  1. The April/May edition of Machinist's Workshop did a test of penetrating oils where they measured the force required to loosen rusty test devices. Buy the issue if you want to see how they did the test. The results reported were interesting. The lower the number of pounds the better. Penetrating oil .. Average load .. Price per fluid ounce None ................. 516 pounds .. WD-40 .............. 238 pounds .. $0.25 PB Blaster ......... 214 pounds .. $0.35 Liquid Wrench ... 127 pounds .. $0.21 Kano Kroil ......... 106 pounds .. $0.75 ATF-Acetone mix.. 53 pounds .. $0.10 The ATF-Acetone mix was a 50/50 mix (1 to 1 ratio).
  2. As a TJ owner, it pains to me say I'm not fond of those round headlights with that grill... But I like that front grill much better than the 2500...
  3. I've give up my 5 Speed in a Second for an Auto if it were an EASY and FREE swap...  I'm sure there's someone out there that woulf gladly trade you an AW4 for your Ax-15. Had my MJ not had a Dana 44 in the back, I would have walked away because I really only wanted an Auto... I think I can get an AW4 from an XJ for basically next to nothing...when I do my Engine Swap, it might get a new tranny at the same time if I'm feeling up to the challenge...
  4. $15K per this thread (the one that I remember...) http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... ght=currie
  5. Wasn't this up for sale at one time late 2007, early 2008?
  6. I knew it was something, thats is what makes it look messed up, the bumper. I don't' think that's all...
  7. I gots me a few Saltwater fish, but they are more for the kiddies and awful damn expensive to maintain (Tank Service is like $100/mth)
  8. Good, Like I said, I enjoy reading your posts and seeing the pics and hope to see more...
  9. Let me start by saying that this absolutely isn't meant as a bash IN ANY WAY for those you guys that are starting the Chinese 2500 Front End/Other Misc Parts Replacement Projects... The Write Ups and pics are Wicked awesome and I have and will continue to read every thread with interest. I'm personally just not crazy about the way the thing looks (or at least how I am envisioning in my head how it's going to look when it's finished). Maybe I'm wrong and it will grow on me once we start seeing some "finished" projects. I guess what's cool as we can still get excited about and follow new projects even if they aren't ones that we would choose for our own rigs. Each guy has a different opinion about what looks good and what they want to do with their truck. This will for sure give guys a new way to have a custom looking setup... For me, I like and will keep my OEM Shaped Grill/Lights/Front end, but to each their own. I hope I don't get bashed (But It's OK if I do), I just wanted to get that off my chest... Carry on with your projects (This was deliberately not sent as a reply to any of the project threads because I didn't want it to be seen as bashing ANYTHING that anyone has going on). SW2
  10. I want to know what everyone is talking about, endlessly, continuously, and how in gawd's name did we exist as humans before we could talk to every person we know, non-stop for every waking second of every day regardless if we were in the car, at work, in the bathroom, sitting in the airport or wherever... I swear that if Airlines EVER allow Cell phones on Planes, and I have to fly, I will go absolutely CRAZY and you will see pictures of me on CNN being hauled off in cuffs by Air Marshall's after an emergency landing while the dude that that was sitting next to me using his phone is having his cell phone surgically removed from his backside
  11. I've give up my 5 Speed in a Second for an Auto if it were an EASY and FREE swap...
  12. I didn't say I hated dogs, they just seem like more trouble than they are worth in my estimation... I have 3 year olds, all I hear about is getting a puppy, so maybe once I'm forced to get one it will grow on my a little bit Cheeseburgers = Yes PB&J = Nearly Daily from age 5 to 15 Sorry to disappoint WS... SW2
  13. You talking to me? How much you had to drink there Wahoo? Pre-Beard and 25 lbs heavier, I was compared to Vince Gill (country music guy) and Mike Leech (Texas Tech College Football Coach) Never heard any comparison to Russell Crowe...and If I wasn't tired and lazy I'd photochop a pic of me onto a Maximus body from Gladiator (my favorite movie of all time), but I am tired and Lazy #2
  14. I guess we'll find out huh... I ordered those $40 shackles and now I just need a free weekend and a 12 packer of Bud Light Limes to get pumped up a couple inches and see how she looks. In fact, I need a refill on the BLLime right now, having just finished my School work for the week (34 year old college Senior taking online classes in case anyone cares)...
  15. Sure but if I"m getting a full bigger lift down the road, I can have a decent setup NOW for like $40 vs the $850 for a full kit with replacement leafs... I could give two smokes if my leafs sag a little more or faster... They are gonna get replaced anyhow...U-Joints are cheap (and probably are gonna go anyhow after 20+ years)... I drove the TJ with a Budget Boost for 3 or 4 years before saving and spending the $$$$ on a full long arm kit... The BB did what I needed it to while I had it. I see this as a similar deal. Optimal, obviously not... economical, sure... SW2
  16. DUDE, I didn't know Algebra was required...
  17. Not a darn bit... I just want to buy something that will keep the MJ "level" when I slam on those 1.75" ish front spacers...and not spend a ton of $$$ in the process... SW2
  18. Driving with the new knob is NICE...It "feels" much better in the hand, and makes the stick feel a little "shorter", I'm not sure that it is, but it feels that way... The wife drove the MJ to work 2nite, and she complained about the shifter falling off, so we will see how she likes it. She also complains about the Seat and not being able to adjust it forward... I guess something else for me to look at... SW2
  19. Not a cat fan...nor do I care for dogs... call me screwy... Image Not Found
  20. I have some older Teraflex Quick Disco's that I removed from my TJ when I went bigger...I'm pretty sure these were 0"-2" or 0"-3" lift since I used when I just had the Budget Boost installed. Could these be reused on my MJ if I were going to reuse the 2" Budget Boost Spacers up front (and think about a shackle swap in the back). Thanks, as always!
  21. OK, so this might be a stupid question.... if a 2" Drop Shackle is only going to give me 1" ish lift in the rear and most of the front coil spacers are 1.5"-2" (the ones I took off my TJ and planned on reusing are 1.75 or just a little longer - Rubicon Express)... How off balance will my Rig appear with that type of setup?
  22. Yah, I was thinking the AMC historian could get us more info about it...
