  1. No worries, I got the fuel Rail with the nice regulator attached for like $15 at the overpriced P-n-P..
  2. Now the hope is to get the rust spot under the dash patched somehow on Sunday and get my Interior started to go back in. The spot is "bigger" than I remember it....ick! EDIT...Opps, I forgot I need to try to get it smogged so I can DMV the thing...I'm past due on my tags since it wasn't running.
  3. Back on Topic... Dropped in new Fuel Rail from P-n-P, and other than a nearly dead batter that I had to jump (will likely need a new battery also), it fired right up, no fuel spraying all over the place, and in very drivable condition again!!! YEAH!!!
  4. Successful but not Exciting... - No MJ's, No Shock since I've only EVER seen 1 (on about 10 JY Runs at 3 different yards over the past 2 years) - Lots of CFC/CARS/Pink Spray Painted Engines, Kind of Sad, many were still pretty nice looking vehicles - I saw my first TJ Ever at a JY...was a 97 and was barely the frame and tub left...nothing worth grabbing - Lots of 2 Dr Cherokees, probably 3 or 4, and there were a couple "OK" sets of Seats. Had it been Cheap Seat Day, I might have picked up a pair cause at least seat frame/cushion might have been better of than my driver side - I saw 3 or 4 Underhood extender lights. All of them had busted plastic, missing light end, etc., not worth grabbing -There were at least a couple WJ's that had the Curved Lower Control Arms which can be used on MJ/XJ's to prevent tire rub (I already have a set on). I didn't have my larger sockets otherwise might have taken them off and offered up here. I ended up with a Nice Fuel Rail off a 89 Cherokee with a perfect appearing Fuel Pressure Regulator (it was still shiny and looked newer than the rest of the engine) I got a Nice Rear View Mirror with no Black Spots in the Middle A Vac Line that I had busted messing with my stuff So that's all I was really going for, so I guess it was a successful day. Now I hope to get the new rail installed and actually get this thing running again!!!
  5. You Are such a tease Pete...
  6. Sorry to hear this Dave... I saw your Facebook post as well... Wish you the best of luck finding something bigger and better... I know you have the little one to take care of too! If you lived in Penang, Malaysia, were right out of college, and IT Guru and would work for about $5/hr I could probably set you up with something... Offshoring, the new "American Way"...YUK!
  7. I picked up a 6'er today... Going to pop the top off of #3.... it's not HORRIBLE, prefer over regular old Bud Light, but don't buy much regular ole' Bud Light either...Don't know that I will buy much of this either. ...changed my mind 1/2 way through the post...opened a "Harvest Moon" from Blue Moon... A better Ale, at least for... I'm with Jeff.... I can drink about 20 Lite beers, about 2 Guinness (not really a fan), or a smattering of a few other middle of the roads, but I usually go for more Ale's than I do pilsners, or wheats or stouts, etc.
  8. Well, it was a rubber mallet, and I can't see that's it's actually bent or deformed, but the gas sure shot out at a different angle (basically shooting toward the front wall of my garage a few feet in front of the MJ), so I assume I f'ed it up. maddzz1, thanks for the offer mate, but this will at least give me an exuse to give to the wife for a Pik-n-Pull day in the near future. LoTGoD, I don't know that I've had any specific identified electrical issues, but I know my fuse box under the drivers side dash has been subject to drippage since my cowl area leak is right above there.
  9. Oh - didn't know you baptised it w. the BFRH. Yeah, the rails (I think) are just silver soldered at the joints - wouldn't take much beating to spring a leak. Prolly best to get a new old one at the yard.......... Well, I did it sometime after I posted the thread and the question and after it started spraying more and before I read your reply... so when I posted the pic, it was probably just the O-Ring...but being the stubborn, pissed off and frustrated dude I am, I took out some frustration... I'm getting tired of messing with this thing and still have to worry about the leak under the dash before my rainy season starts... I haven't even started taking the dash apart yet...maybe breakout the BFH to make that a quicker job too! :fs1: SWII
  10. It *might* have just been the o-ring untill I beat the crap out of it with a rubber mallet...I'm thinking I need to schedule a trip to the local PnP to see if I can get a new assembly...That's not easy and will probably be a couple weeks before I can fit that in (I'm about 45 minutes to the closest PnP and with the kids and stuff it's a pain)... So I guess a few more weeks of a 'dead' MJ... Glad my TJ is doing good... Sw2
  11. Wife is none too happy that the entire garage and house now smells like 87 Octane...
  12. If this is the same thing, RockAuto wants almost $70... 1989 JEEP COMANCHE PIONEER 4.0L 242cid L6 MFI (L) : Fuel/Air : Fuel Injection Pressure Regulator STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # PR21
  13. I don't think I was overly rough getting it off, had zero issues before, and am fairly certain the injectors are seated well into the rail and in the engine...and from what little bit that I saw it was spraying there at that seam and not any of the injector connections.
  14. Fired up the MJ today for the first time after installing new Injectors, putting the rail back on, figuring out where all my Vac lines were supposed to go... As soon as it fired up it started spraying gas everywhere... I was rushing to turn the engine off before I had a BIG problem, but it sure appeared to be coming from this seam highlighted in red... Is this just a bad rail or is there something (additional) that I screwed up...since it seems I'm better as screwing crap up than I am fixing it... FRUSTRATED Wade
  15. Thx... The connection in the first pic in no way is going to stay put...meaning it appears the end has stretched out or something and barely even makes contact with the post on the airbox. Maybe needs some Duct Tape...
  16. I finally got off my lazy butt and reinstalled my Fuel Rail with the new Fuel Injectors and my nicely cleaned/painted Valve Cover this evening... It's been apart for a couple months and I now have a couple vacuum line location questions that I can't find where they should be connected... The first is near the Air box...the vac line is (Red Box) coming from the far drivers side of the main Primary Vacuum Block at the front middle of the bay. There is also a "post" (Blue Box) at the air box that looks like something should be there, but this particular fitting doesn't seem to want to stay there. The second appears to be coming from the Throttle Body area and leads back towards the back of the block (and YES I realize the vac line is busted at the smaller red box and will need replaced anyhow) And finally my nice Valve cover paint job, nothing fancy, but it's pretty clean at least...
  17. uhm, nope... :waving: -SwII
  18. I happen to be In Chicago this weekend with the family...don't give a crap about either team, and obviously didn't bother going to the game, But the Steeler faithful are down in the hotel bar now drowning thier sorrows, quite loudly!!! We did take a cab ride past the stadium while the Steelers were still winning I think. Go 9ers, already leading the NFC West!!!
  19. Seriously, can someone tell me if the local parts placed "should" be able to get that Injector to Fuel Rail Clip, or if I'm going to have to go raid the junkyard or something?
  20. Anyone have an extra Injector Clip laying around? I can't find the last one I lost in the bay and the dude at the local parts place looked at me sideways when I asked them there. Sw2
  21. Thanks for all the help guys... back fuel line was easy also... Other than losing one of the Injector Holder Clip things in the back of the bay (that I need to still find I guess) things are going much better... I'm probably done for the night, but should be able to get this buttoned back up and then just waiting for the new Valve Cover Gasket and I cleaned up the cover and was going to toss a coat of paint on it before it goes back on too just to look nice since it's already off. I was planning on picking up some high heat engine spray stuff, I assume that's OK?
  22. PERFECT...that did the trick for the front one Jeff, took about 15 seconds once I freed up the line... I'm going to go wrassle with the back one now! Wade
  23. I've done plenty of "Squeezing the Ears Inward" and there is not much twist on the metal hard line so maybe I just need a bigger hammer... When I squeeze the ears, I can get a touch of movement inwards, but I get absolutely nothing outwards at all.
  24. This is the front one that I was fighting with first (unsuccessfully) And this is the back one that I have touched yet
  25. OF COURSE...more crap I have to go buy...It never ends...
