  1. Started working on my driveshafts tonight, Got all the u joints pulled, and all i needed was 2 4x4's a hammer, screw driver and a socket :D Here are a few pictures, should have cleaned painted and the new joints installed shortly Starting to get there lol

Slowly getting closer to getting the engine and trans in Made some progress in the engine compartment and interior Pulled my dash since it was all cracked and decided to change the heater core Alot of good write ups out there Need to find the after pics still Upgraded the booter to one from a 99 xj New on the left and old one on the right New sensor And a few pictures of the booster installed, painted washer bottle, and some of the wiring buttoned up My goal is to have the drive train all bolted in Still waiting for my motor mounts, need trans bolts, And a few ther misc items for the engine and trans stay tuned Prevous total- $2387.23 Heater Core $30 Fuel pump resistor - $19.44 Cost to date- $2426.67

In the process of bolting up the bellhousing to the block and only have the 2 external torn bolts on top of the housing I need to know the size of the bolts that hold the flexplate to both the engine and bellhousing, size, length, and thread The two on the side with the dowels are 7/16-14 2.5" in length from what I researched And help would be appreciated 1990 jeep mj lwb. 4x4 auto 4.0 231tc Thanks

  12. Thanks, I used high temp engine paint on the bay and did 2 coats. As far as prep work I used grease lightening and whipped everything down the best I could, I also used the same paint on the fender braces. For the inner fender I will be using monsta liner, but I have that on the back burner till the weather breaks and I get a little more accomplished

  15. Finally had a decent weather day today and decided to paint my engine bay finally so i can the start re-assembly. Also cleaned and painted my trans and t-case Trans before Cleaned and painted Now on to the good pics :drool: Very happy with the way the paint came out and dried, Have a few small areas to touch up, but overall was good Plans this week are to clean/paint and change the joints in my drive shafts Get the mtor and tanny bolted together Check all the under hood wiring ad start re assembly Now the fu begines stay tuned Cost to date- $2387.23

Finished up the passengers side again, installing the dust shield this time :D Inside of drivers axle tube ( Before ) A little brake cleaner and a broom stick, ( After ) Some of the debris hanging around in my axle New spicer ball joints Part # 705944 Installed Axle shaft in place ready for hub and dust shield New Hub Forgot to take an installed pic New ebc rotors part # usr906 Scored them on ebay for $60 shipped Installed ( Pass Side ) Installed (Drivers side) Scored a pair of jks quick discos for $35 ( used ) And complete for now, Just need to pick install my calipers, and figure out what brand pads, and steering setup i want to go with Weather permitting tomarrow ill get back to the engine bay and drivetrain Previous total- $2166.73 Passengers side ball joints- $45.55 left and right hubs- $79.95 Ebc Rotors- $60 shipped Jks Quick Discos - $35 shipped Cost to date- $2387.23

  19. finished up the drivers side tonight and started the passengers side, will have all done this weekend Bought some mobil one grease for the axle shaft splines Applied to splines after a good cleaning with a wire brush and brake cleaner Installed steering knuckle New hub installed Started working on the passengers side, had this baby out within 10 minutes Thats all the progress i made tonight On another note look what the brown santa finally brought me today NOS Taiil light With its original box Paid a pretty penny for it, hopefully i can find the other drivers side More pictures to come tomarrow

  21. That paint came out really good for roll on, will keep that on the back burner for when I'm at that stage, did you clear coat over it?

Tackled the passenger side ball joints these last 2 nights, Have to say what a pittta they were, After my c clamp would not tighten anymore i ended up heating, crc freeze off and nothing did the trick, Who would have knew a few hits on the side with a hammer would have did the trick :dunno: The drivers side should go more smoothly as i picked up a few tricks lol Removed both ball joints I even resulted to the grinder to help before the hammer trick Spicer Ball joints part # 706944 Won them in a auction on ebay for cheap $30.50 shipped ( lower joint is in the process of being installed, not in picture ) No too many of the install as it was pretty straight foward Also cleaned the inside of my axle tube, Alot of dirt and rust in there Should have it all buttoned up and finished by the weekend Previous total $2136.23 Passenger Spice Bal joints $30.50 Cost to date- $2166.73

Finished up sanding and painting the axle today Inspected the gears and everything looks good Lube Locker gasket and a nice little diff cover upgrade Before And installed Got my axle u joints over the weekend Image Not Found Before Image Not Found Installed Image Not Found U joint install was pretty straight foward, being my first time doing this i am happy the way it all went, Only messedd up on cap, and was luck to have one of the old ones in good shape Just waiting on my hubs spicer ball joints calipers and still shopping for a good steering set up Previous total $2006.20 Lube Locker Gasket- $21.99 Differential cover- $62.04 Spicer u Joints-$46.00 Cost to date- $2136.23
