  1. Inside the bottom of the gas tank there is what looks like a pan in the middle of the tank. I ASSume its to stop the gas from sloshing around and to keep gas in the middle of the tank at a higher level when there is little gas in the tank. There is a pic inside the tank here: viewtopic.php?t=8666&highlight=sending+unit
  2. I think I remember reading that the aftermarket gas tanks don't have the "tray" in them.
  3. Theres some reading from mfpdm here that may help figure it out: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=21429
  4. It also controls where the heat comes out. If the lines break you will only get heat from the defrost vent. .....and don't worry, it looks like you have the more popular dual ball  . I believe one side for cruise and one for vent door
  5. At the beginning of the game Canada was killing us on the boards. Everytime the puck was dumped in Canada was all over it. It wasnt looking good for the USA. Canada definately won that game on the boards and in the corners. I HATED to see Canada win.
  6. Yeah, and the best part is, if he ever tries to sell it chances are the buyer won't find the bondo since Ive never seen anyone check a piston for bondo with a magnet. How could they anyway? Pistons are aluminum. :hmm: Sure, just ruin my attempt at humor. :wall:
  7. Looks right to me. Automatics prior to 91, I believe, had a seperate TCU. After that the ECU controls the tranny
  8. Yeah, and the best part is, if he ever tries to sell it chances are the buyer won't find the bondo since Ive never seen anyone check a piston for bondo with a magnet.
  9. Very nice MJ. Its also nice to see the MJOTM go to aall different kinds of rigs, from trail rigs, to stock trucks, to restos. I like the chief decals the best of all MJs, especially the ones on the hood. Great truck
  10. Those "classic" MJs sure are worth alot of money. Thats only 1750.oo more than I paid for mine.

  12. I know I have zero deduct on WS replaces on my TJ and my Tahoe, but I don't think I added it to my MJ... I was thinking it was $250 deduct otherwise (and I wanted to go as cheap as i could for the MJ...) might be fishy if I swapped to Zero deduct and a few days later tried to open a claim for replacement. Yeah, that might look a little funny
  13. Wade, You can do it on your home owners insurance. Just say one of the kids hit it with a rock while it was parked in the driveway. My mother did this when one of my kids broke hers. Might want to double check tho, before the kids start throwing.
  14. If your MJ is an 87 then you don't have a ballist resistor.
  15. I live in RI and there are times when a "stray" beer or two gets left in the fridge in the uninsulated, unattached to the house garage for long periods of time and they don't freeze. However, I do believe they get lonely.
  16. Glad your daughter is ok Don. Maybe that "accidental" shooting of her brother wasnt such an accident.
  17. if you do the booster upgrade grab the pedal assembly with the bracket and newer brake switch too. If you have a standard it will be adirect swap, you just have to splice the two wires for the brake switch. If you have an automatic it is a bit different. the shift cable for the tranny is on the brake pedal bracket for the mj. which also makes this a good time to switch to a floor shift.

  19. amen. don't forget to plug the originating vacuum line. What size vacuum caps are needed?
  20. I understand now. Its like when one tire is off the ground and all the power is sent to that wheel , so you can't go anywhere. I thought taht was with a LSD tho, not an open diff
  21. If the cad only locks the pass side 2 piece axle shaft together. Then wouldnt the drivers side and inner pass side be spun when the front drive shaft starts spinning? When you pull the TC into 4WD?
  22. If my CAD isnt working and I put my MJ in 4WD, does this mean I actually have 3WD? pass side front not working? or am I still in 2WD?
  23. I would say to check the shackles and see if there are any marks where they may be hitting something. The rear springs may be flexing alot from 20 years of use causing the shackles to hit
  24. When I saw the OP, I thought someone must have bumped an old post. :wavey:
