  1. I'm not sure if we've adopted them or not, yet.
  2. Yikes, time for some Jeepspeed style frame bracing...

    Good CL story.

In addition to the V6 comment...this was a funny snip as well... A buddy of mine just called a couple hours ago. He was talking about ordering from Rusty's, and I advised him against it. He had already ordered. He used the part selector on their webpage and ordered top plates for a Ford 8.8, got them in a reasonable time (which is rare) and they don't fit. He called them and talked to a guy (not Rusty or Zach) and he went out and measured it with some expensive caliper (he's a machinist) and told the guy the measurement, and that his part was wrong, and the guy said "well, you need a pretty accurate measuring tool"....he said "I already told you, I'm a 'freakin' machinist! I'm using a caliper! The guy told him that they didn't fit because it was an explorer axle, and the 8.8 that they put in jeeps has thinner tubes! " 8.25 was one of the other choices, but he ordered for the 8.8. The guy at the shop actually told him that the Ford 8.8 came in some jeeps...
  4. Looking at mine with the bed off, it's obvious that the factory originally painted it with the bed on the truck.
  5. Agreed. Knee-jerk.
  6. Started pulling the front axle so I could more thoroughly clean and paint that area, plus I can walk all the way up to the windshield.

    My Best Dyno

That's pretty killer. I want to build one of those in the back yard someday...

    Paint?

I like it on your rig, but not mine.
  9. First, welcome to CC. You'll find a wealth of information and friendly advice here. I'll answer your questions as best I can, in order.... What will and won't swap- The MJ rear leaf springs are longer than XJ rear leaf springs. The XJ gas tank will not work, since the MJ tank is in front of the axle, under the drivers side of the bed. The fuel pump and sender in your MJ tank will work fine though. As far as swapping the driveline, you'll need a new rear driveshaft, but I think the front is the same. You may as well swap the harness, it's not that hard. Some of the sensors might be different, and you'll probably want to use the gauge cluster out of the XJ. XJ and MJ front suspension is identical, so yes, your crossmember, long arms, etc will all work on either.
  10. Very handsome dog. We have a red nosed red named Ruby (of course) and she's an amazing dog. She plays fine with dogs smaller than her head, she's gotten along with our daughter since the day we brought her home, and she never leaves the fenced yard unless she's leashed. It's not always completely the upbringing of the dog that determines its attitude. Originally these dogs were bred solely for aggression towards other animals, and if a dog bit it's handler, it would be put down on the spot. For example, if a handler broke a hold between two dogs, it wouldn't rear back and bite him. This caused those tendencies to be eliminated from the breed until years and years later when people got the bright idea to breed and train them as guard dogs, and encouraging human aggressive behavior. It's not the "inbreeding" that did it, it was the lack of restraint when breeding a working dog. If you look back at the pedigrees of several champion dogs among several breeds, you see a lot of inbreeding. So in short, it's a combination of poor breeding choices, poor training, irresponsible ownership, and abuse that causes this breed a problem. Never thought I'd use the soapbox smiley...but it's just something I feel very strongly about.
  11. Call my buddy Jim at 314 795 1824 and tell him you got the number from Hawk. He parts out a few Cherokee's, and there's a good chance he has what you need.
  12. I continued scrubbing the undercarriage of mine with degreaser and a toothbrush....I'm a glutton for punishment.
  13. I saw you mention the LS1 in the 400sbc thread. I think there's a specific LS1 harness you can get. It would make your life much easier, and replace that big factory ball of spaghetti with a much nicer looking, labeled, color coded, and better quality ball of spaghetti.
  14. Check ebay for inexpensive gauges. Where's billybob been lately?
  15. I don't understand the point of pupils. I don't see a difference in it with my guy.
  16. Wow, a bear? How much damage does that thing do? My level three guy only made it to 4h of the last tourney, I can't wait to get him higher and see what other kind of goodies he gets.
  17. http://cheekyone.mybrute.com/ I built probably 40 different characters before I got one i liked. He started with 10 strength, so his hits did higher damage, then when he hit level 2, he got that club, so he does 40-55'ish damage when he connects, as long as he remembers to use the dang club.
  18. I ended up ordering an EZ compact 21 circuit harness from ebay. Edit=Came in today! It was only $150 shipped and is a good quality kit. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... &viewitem= And here's what the truck looks like right now, stuffed in my garage. Just like every other stripped down MJ.
  19. How come they cut the back half off that one? To use as a trailer?
  20. I see half of one every day, so on average, I see one every 2nd day.
  21. Turned out the gasket was fine, it was the fact that I didn't have the intake seated on those two pegs. Didn't even know they were there. Bent my intake enough that when I put it on correctly it still had a bit of a leak, so I put on a spare I had, and I'll have to take my original to the shop and have it squared. It's running great now. I did put a new gasket on, by the way. Thanks for the tips, guys, always appreciated.
  22. It's all taken back apart, waiting on the wife to get back with the new part. I had all my lines and everything hooked up correctly, it had to be that gasket. This time I'll clean it really good with carb/choke and let it all evaporate, then put it back together.
  23. I'm going to take off the old gasket anyway. The reason the new one didn't fit is because apparently mine needs the one for the 98. Their 99-01 have the same part number. Wife is on her way to get it while I tear it all back apart.
  24. Anyone have a buddy they can call on a Sunday morning and give my number to? 636-584-5181
  25. Today I pulled the header/intake to swap in a new header, since mine was cracked. My jeep sounded like a diesel. I'm sure most of you are familiar. I got everything swapped fine, but after I hooked it all up, when I start it, the engine revs all the way up (with the throttle body cables disco'd, so it shouldn't be a TB problem at all). It bounced off the rev limiter once, so I shut it down. I started it twice more and it tried to do the same thing so I killed it really fast and I don't want to mess with it anymore tonight. I used PB blaster to clean the injectors and the little holes where they go, but I cleaned the PB out of the holes and sprayed white lithium grease in there before I put the rail back on. I reused the old manifold gasket, since the piece of trash I got from oreilly had about 1/8 inch of intrusion on the exhaust ports. (LAME!) I unplugged all the injectors and tried again to start it, and it didn't fire at all. So I guess the injectors are going balls out when I start the thing and pumping it full of fuel, although my TB isn't opening or anything. Also, it's running completely "normal" when it does this, meaning, no backfire, no sputtering, sounds the way it should sound. Help... :dunno:
