Wow! Wade, that was a killer 1002nd post you made, totally awesome!! Those chicks are so hot! (See how easy that was? Good work my friend)
-
Uh, ok, that would work. You could probably overcome your personal disappointment if you went ahead with the hottie post. Then when you see your wife at the end of the day and she says, "hey honey, how was your day?" you can say, "well, i finally made my 1000th post today on the CC (i'm confident she knows exactly what "CC" stands for) since i've been so busy in the new position at work you know. and, well, honey, i guess i just wasn't in the proper mindset because my post, well, my post just didn't have that MILESTONE feel to it. does that make sense?" and she says "i don't know honey, currently i'm not obsessed with chatting on a Jeep forum of any kind. but in your defense, was the topic something that didn't lend itself to your usually witty or insightful type of responses?" and you say, "well, actually, it should have been very easy. but i think i redeemed myself when i just posted up a bunch of pictures of college cheerleader hotties, which is basically what the topic is about. so my milestone post was really my 1002nd, and now i'm at peace with it all." i'll be waiting for the pics........... :brows:

spray your primer sand it with 320, get some wax and grease remover wipe it on Never seen 320. 330 maybe? That's what used. Never heard of 330.. 320 is an automotive grade of sandpaper, is 330 for wood, or construction? "eh, 320, 330, whatever it takes" :D -
S-Dub2, I'm a little disappointed in your 1000th too. Sounds like your blaming the topic instead of the author for a not so exciting post LOL! Must be the new promotion quelling your creativity. ;)

that's because google recognizes your most popular searches that you've opened or clicked on and fills the search with those first, Mr. Chico Pornuentes

Problem solved. She wanted a high school diploma. Six years in the slammer should be plenty of time to get her G.E.D. and not even a chance at being the prom queen :rotf: nah, but i bet she can get screwed in the locker room... uh, i think that's what happened the first time LOL...... :brows:

Jeep Grand Comanche?
WahooSteeler replied to fatcat0491's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That thing is huge! I'm not afraid, it's pretty cool looking too! Done right it seems. Although, it doesn't look like it has a motor in it right now? He need's to rent that thing out in Hollywood to the movie industry! -
Something doesn't jive on the one claiming to be an MT, but I think the owner isn't very educated on the 4wd scene. I.E., he says it's an MT, and with how well it's holding up that load of wood I'd agree, but also says it has a D35. No such animal as an MT with D35; either an AMC20 in '86 or D44 in '87-'92. And as already pointed out, that's no spring over on the lift. Regardless, seems like a pretty clean truck for $2k.

I hear ya JT. Yeah, I'm more impressed by engineering than whether or not it's American, Import, big motor, small motor etc. The Integra always impressed me because it truly was an engine with racing heritage, and to get that kind of performance out of 1.8 litres and no boost of any kind, pretty cool IMO. And for that matter, take the current Vettes since I mentioned them before. I think they are absolutely cool as hell. And I'm not talking whether or not it is practical, squeaks and rattles, yadda yadda yadda. I think what's cool as hell is that it, and a lot of other modern day sport coupes, can flat out haul @$$ and yet it CAN return acceptable fuel mileage; it CAN be a fairly comfortable DD yet pull 8 to 9/10s of a G on a skid pad. Stuff like that is cool to me. On the other end, take the Buick Regal GNX. No doubt a cool @$$ car that could just flat out haul. The 3.8 turbo was some neat engineering, but for the most part, it was off the shelf for GM IIRC. Nothing special about that car really, but a great marketing idea. Now granted, that's a 1980s car and a poor example for the opinion I'm trying to express. So before any of you die-hards get your panties in a bunch about the true technical details of that or other cars (i.e. I know it's not as simple as just dropping a motor in an engine bay etc.), I'm just saying from a very simple point of view, the GNX was not a car designed and engineered from the ground up. ALL the mfr's still do it to this day. "Let's see what semi go-fast motor and body effects pkg we can put in/on something already in production and see if we can get any incremental sales out of it for bascially $0 design cost." So, for me, I am often more impressed by what a certain vehicle does in contrast to what it is assumed it should be.

Jeep Grand Comanche?

Why don't you just find a Dodge Rampage and convert it to 4x4? :D Image Not Found -
I don't think anyone actually paid attention to my incoherent comments :rotf: No, just Jeepco, he takes things a little bit too serious, or literal, sometimes. I don't think anyone really thought you were saying "screw safety or doing it right, just do it!!". It's all good!

All good stuff fellas. IMO this thread is really helpful to anyone thinking of painting on their own and what has been tried and the pros and cons of each method. That link to "roll it on" was great. I saw that 76 Vette and I was like, NO!, please tell me somebody DID NOT roll paint a Vette!! But it looked pretty good. Hard to tell if you don't see it in person, but pretty damn good for $26 LOL. Just a reminder, I started this thread not necessarily because I was getting ready to paint my truck, but because I was intrigued by how many people had painted on the cheap with different approaches and results. Obviously some of them turned out pretty damn good, so I thought it would be cool to get more input. Because I am NOT experienced at doing anything like this, that's why I've thrown out the crazy questions like the Wagner power sprayer etc.. I don't think I would have ever tried that, but as I've read all the input here I've tried to think of questions that other people might have or, again, just really try to push the idea beyond the boundaries. I mean, IMO, it seems logical (to the uneducated paint person like me at least) that even a Wagner home sprayer would produce a better result than a roller, and since it's powered it could maybe be a step better than rattle can. Oh, and the clear coat question. Same thing. I was like "Ok, so you can produce a cheap and decent paint job with a little prep and some rattle cans, but it looks like everybody is saying there is no good way to clear it so as to increase the shine AND retain it. If a low cost body shop job is $750 for a regular paint job (NOT looking for input on this, just a number I threw out there fellas LOL) and a rattle can job is $50, maybe a rattle can and body shop clear job could be $350 and worthwhile." So for me at least, a lot of these things I could guess may not work or be a good idea, but I didn't know why and now I do. All that being said, hopefully this will keep going a while longer and produce come more good info. -

You need to remove the sports truck decal and paint that section,, or paint over the decal and take a sharpie and fill in the decal... That looks like poo.. Sorry to be so blunt but it does... :rotfl2: -
Didn't claim they were...but they are quick for what they are...an 80's Jeep pickup truck. Integras aren't exactly Jeeps and look like they were designed as a sports car. It's quite obvious they are not :brows: It's quite obvious you have never seen the stats on an Integra. Now you may have a different opinion of what fast is, but an Integra is no slouch. I'm not talking about something that will win an all out drag race with V8 American muscle etc., but for a non-turbo'd 4 cyl capable of running low 7's in the 0-60 sprint, it's quick. The Type R model, still w/out Turbo, would run high 6's. IMO, ANYTHING running sub 7 sec 0-60s is pretty damn quick, especially for the year of that particular model on the video, probably around 2000 or so. And a sports car is not always ALL about speed, and the Integra was(is) one of the better handling sports cars.

No, I have friends. :rotfl2: :rotf: :jump: :rotf: :rotfl2:

Taz, I would agree that yours is more phonetically correct. You should be an instructor for "Hooked on Phonics" LOL.

Ok, since we are talking cheap/affordable/budget paints jobs and the like, I have another thought and/or question. Has anybody attempted to use a Wagner or similar powersprayer? -
4, 6, 8 cyl....wouldn't matter, that Integra would smoke most of them, that's a fast little ride. My sister had one, they love to rev!
-
Looked like a Tiburon to me. Only watched it once myself, but are you sure there JT Money? **Edit: You are correct my friend. Nice catch. Oh, and you'd think someone would know the difference between a Honday and an Akra. Mulipurpose, c'mon dude LOL ;)

:laughin: It's "HYUNDAI" horribly misspelled. I guess you could say it was at least spelled phonetically correct though.

So this doesn't have anything to do with the possibility he might have a 242 xfer case? i.e. does a 242 light up accordingly with a PT light or a FT light burning depending on what mode your xfer case is in? Then again, I would think he'd be in 2wd so why would EITHER 4wd light come on?

Another RUSTYS rant.....
WahooSteeler replied to CWLONGSHOT's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
did you get the ones with the higher load rating? Just an fyi, HellCreek has them in 3" & 4" choices also, and the 4" IIRC you can get in either std load rating or MT rating. I know you already ordered and not trying to sell Motion short, just sharing the info for future reference.
