If you don't have a hot air tube going under the intake to the hole on that "hockey puck" then it doesnt matter.. that round thing is a diaphragm that open a butterfly valve to let warm air into your intake on cold starts. I removed the whole assy and covered the hole in my truck. As for where the line went... I do beleive it went on one side of one of those "tits" on the firewall side of the air cleaner.

Thinking about it breaking reminds me to tell you that if you let your truck warm up pretty good it'll be less likely to break, then if everything's cold.. Plastic is brittle when cold. :smart:

Whats it made from? You might be able to cut it kinda like Shelbyluv did a overhead console and weld it back together with a bit of filler if its plastic.. I have one in my XJ but I've never removed it, or really ever checked it out.

pull the top out and flex it till it pops out. Sometimes you have to kinda force them to come out.

Try dropping it in low. might have to kinda flex it till it pops out.

Make sure the can contains oil if you go that route.
