I will post some pics of the Leds that I am using on my truggy. They have turn, stop and reverse light all in one water tight housing. They are ovalish in shape. They are also slightly pricey at 45 bucks a piece, but since thay offer a clean install and are kinda trick looking I went with them. I will post a link tommorow Patrick

I'm looking at what you did, and basically you put a t-connector in before the valve and ran new hardline from there back? Thats cool, I swapped mine over to a XJ prop valve, for the simple fact that it was easier, and my rear lines were rusted thjrough in various spots. Patrick

Adding 97+ doors and power windows/locks?
pingpong replied to m0brando's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I believe the door strikers are diffferent. Also they are torx head bolts, I recommend replacing them with the appropriate size allen heads. Patrick -
Engine swap from 4 cyl/manual to Chevy350/SM465
pingpong replied to husky410ohio's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I would call AA and ask them. Or you can try to bolt it up, but there is no guarantee that the fitment problems won't be obvious till you put power to it. Patrick -
This is one of those jobs where the vehicle has to be sitting at ride height, with weight on the springs to set the pinion angle properly. If the axle is stiing on jack stands, or the leafs are un loaded, when you add the weight, it will change. On my 2 rigs my settings are both different. Patrick

Eagle, I looked at the XJ valve I used, after I removed the one off of my trail rig, and it had the same part number on it. The only difference was the plugged line hole. That is why I said what I said. Patrick
-
Eagle, I agree the "will" fit, but I try not to make those judgements with out first seeing the vehicle in person. I don't want to be the one responsible for ppl buying il fitting parts. Patrick
-
To answer your question depends on what your pinion angle is in relation to your t-case output angle Also in order to run a CV driveshaft you have to lengthen your driveshaft, not shorten it. Your pinion angle should be withing 2* (max) of your outpet angle. This hould ensure a vibration free rear shaft. Patrick

My oil leak situation waas similar. Best thing to do is to thouroughly clean the engine with degreaser, and let it dry. Then start the engine and let it run, varing the speed to simulate running down the road. After you have done this you mihgt be suprised where the leaks are coming from. mine happened to be a distributor gasket that was spraying oil up the side of the block, then leaking down the rear. Change from 2wd to 4X4
pingpong replied to 88Sport_Truck's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
My first suggestion is to find a 4wd mj, it will be lots easier then trying to convert a 2wd one. -
Like the title says MPJAI will be heading to Paragon for a fun filled weekend of adrenaline rushes. The club has some pretty built rigs going as well as some less modded rides. The plan is to use the 20 and the 23 as driving days. We will be wheeling on the 21 and the 22nd only. Lodging info is still in the works. we need to see what camp grounds are open. Remember PA is pretty strict about their vehicle requirements, and if you think you might be illegal, please fix it or don't whine about getting a ticket. Needless to say you will be responsible for your own food, gas, lodging and trail repairs. Our club does follow the no one left behind, but that doesnt mean some one with a trailer is going to let your rig ride back on it. If you are interested in going drop a message here and I will keep you all updated as it gets closer. On a side not, we will probrably doing runs to Harlan KY and Tellico also this yr. Patrick

They shouldfit, expect some minor rubbing on your LCA's
-
Yeah I might have a problem then
-
I still have a front glass for now  If you look at my webshots page yes I do wheel in the snow, rain, and the sun. Just the back glass had to go. http://community.webshots.com/user/cj7xjmj Wheel base is at 112" I have only seen one other MJ like this, and his is a 4 link setup in the rear.

Pics of the build up to now. In this link you will see how we cut the frame off, recentered the front leaf mount, positioned the shock tabs. We still have a few more tubes to add for x-bracing behind the cab, but you all can get the idea http://independent4x.com/generic67.html Patrick

Tellico such fond memeories (destroying a locker on day one on Guard rail, then rebuilding my front diff till 2 in the morning, then driving home on bent axle tubes.) Talk about good times. The club I belong too spring ride is going to be rausch and paragon. Patrick

There is a run at Crozet VA on Feb 11, to benifit a kid with cancer in NOVA jeepers. Raliegh is abit of a far ride for me to trailer my rig, and not do any trail riding at the same time. Patrick

Ok I just redid my brake lines from front to back on my truggy. Seems that on the XJ proportioning valve, they block of the return port for the Hieght sensing valve. To me it would make more sense to replace the whole line while you are working on it. Patrick

I have heard the 4.56's were available with the 2.8 as well, but can't confirm this either. there is a thread on pirate about this in the Hardcore tech section. Seems these aw4 were available behind yota's and zuzu as well. Patrick

I have owned 2 xj's with sun roofs, and had no problems with leakge out of them. One was a 87 limited with a d44 :D the other was a 90 limited. Where I live I come across them frequently. I hate to tell you the stealership might be the only way to go. The best bet is to have a shop that your are friends with get it, cause most dealerships mark their price up about 30 - 50%. They don't mark it up that hi for a shop. Jeff It sounds like yours is aftermarket, I would just Find another one and swap it in if it leaks. Also with your pending marriage keep me in mind when your wife makes you sell your jeep for a minivan
-
Have you tried the dealership? I know that is a bit of a chance, but you never know. Also Have you looked online, maybe googled Sunroof gaskets. Patrick
-
Jeff by any chance did you count the axle splines? Shoot me a pm about whick yard has it. Patrick

I was talking with the guy who is doing the fab work on my trail rig, and he said the easiest thing to do for the bell housing is tooo use a lakewood scatter shield, and that way you can drill the holes your self where needed. In my case it would be fro a 4.3 swap. Torque convertor, you might have to go with a custom one, if you can't find a part number. Flywheel might also have to be a custom unit unless you could find part numbers. Patrick

I have not had experience with those seats, but I will critique them all the same for you. The no refunds policy, and the 125 shipping would make me run. Also only has provisins for 4 point harnesses not 5 I just ordered a set of premier highback suspension seats from prpseats.com and For a suspension seat, that I got to pick the colors on, and ordered them eextra wide (for my big butt), they were less then 450 shipped. Granted you have to wiat till it is made for you before you get them. Patrick

I guess since I was out there for a while before MJ liifts were readily available, that bolt on parts just don't make sense to me. Patrick
