  1. Almost all motors tick for a few minutes after they've been running and got up to temp. It's just the metal cooling down. From what I know, the little bit of "smoke" is normal. Every motor I've ever had did that if it was up to temp. Oh, and we all already knew you were crazy.
  2. Maybe you just need some :rotf:
  3. Yeah, those are freaking sweet. I've wanted one for awhile, since I saw the first thread on here about them. I know several members have them, and a few of them even have multiples. Just don't have the money to justify spending on that ATM..
  4. ^^ Needs someone to sell him a decent priced AX-15
  5. Yup, definitely too long. Top one came off the 99, bottom came off the 88.
  6. Power mirrors, manual locks and windows. I know I could have gotten a better deal up in WI, but we were somewhat in a pinch, and this was the best one we could find.
  7. Putting the shift selector in the tach is the best thing you can do. You cannot just put littler gauges in place of the lights, you need to swap in a full cluster from a Renix XJ or MJ. Here's a thread that should have everything you need : viewtopic.php?f=9&t=14904
  8. My 91 2.5 has an aftermarket moonroof, and it's never leaked on me.
  9. You ever look at this one? It was the gold one(obviously) sitting next to the red YJ at SupremeMotors on 5 in Camdenton.
  10. All MJs came with a load sensing valve in the back for the brakes.
  11. When I was doing Jakeman's front axle and trans service with him, I told him what we needed, and we went to the Advance auto... To be greeted by a "Know it all" that proceeded to tell us that the water in the Peugot meant the radiator had a leak into the trans cooler (Even after I argued the fact that its a stick). Also tried telling me to have him do a tune up because "those jeeps" have a problem with bad plugs frying the ECM. I was so pissed. He could even get the name "Comanche" right... Kept calling it a "Commander", and was spewing out all this crap advice... If you don't know what your talking about, don't try preaching it to someone who's been balls deep in jeep stuff since I was 14. Needless to say I called back the next day and asked for him, and then asked for a thermostat for a '66 VW beetle, and a alternator for a '96 Jeep Wrangler. :rotf: I had that boy stumped. Rob L. :D :clapping:
  12. If you can prove it died because of something he did... then the alt's on him.
  13. ^^ Is a dork :rotfl2:
  14. Remember with SOA you have to factor in the amount of lift the AAL will add, plus the thickness of the leaf itself.
  15. An XJ main leaf with the eyes cut out on each side ought to do it.
  16. ^^ Doesn't know that girls driving MJs are like the greatest thing, ever.
  17. If you've got a lot of yards and some time, try to find an AX-4/5 from an 84-86 or 93+. They'll have an external slave setup. If yours is an 86 however, then you'll already have the external setup, and you can just migrate that over to the new trans. Putting up some specs in your signature helps out with tech questions.
  18. It's an SE if that matters :dunno:
  19. I don't think they're an upgrade.. but certainly won't hurt anything.
  20. You'll need either a 4wd AX-4 or AX-5. I would shoot for an AX-5, since you'll have the 4.10 gearing and the overdrive is rather helpful. This, of course, if you're staying with a 2.5 Are you dumping in a 4.0? If so, you'll need a 4wd AX-15.
  21. ^^ Couldn't be bothered to spell correctly in his own signature.
  22. ^^ Promised awhile ago to spell better, because he stated he spelled and typed just fine when he was doing something 'official'... yet hasn't really tried.
  23. I thought the injectors had the same rating? Might be worth the cash to pop in the upgraded 24 lb Mustang injectors.
  24. It's in my nature to provide a stock flex shot for comparison  My second XJ, an 89
