  1. I did not notice that lol. My garage is destroyed because they needed the space at work. Now I have all my Jeep stuff packed in there. That is my 82 CJ7 buried in MJ parts
  2. Even though I have two rear view mirrors (one new) that are made for the 91 and up, I still hope to be able to find one that fits the 90 and down MJ/XJ. They have an unsalvageable 88 MJ at the LKQ, but it had the right rear view mirror! Paid $4 - it’s a steal for a part nobody has. The new one on right is a bit larger than the 88 on the left -> The difference in the mounts of the mirrors. 88 -> The new style-> Polished up the mirror and got it in pretty good shape. Then I just detailed it a bit -> Got it hooked it up and it’s a perfect fit
  3. That is looking tuff! Saw a lifted one on larger tires but could not stop to get a picture. I will when I see it again. I looked nice too.
  4. I somehow thought this was my post. Sorry, deleted it.
  5. My doors do not stay open and they are always hitting me in the back while loading groceries, or the munchkin. I have been putting off fixing this for a long time, because I did not want to take the door apart again and I was worried about it not working. I went to the local LKQ some time back and bought 2 door checks. I got them off a 94 four door XJ. I hoped that I could rebuild mine using the mechanisms off the Jeep. I grabbed the two rear checks, because 1 they looked the same as the fronts. And 2 I thought the would be in better condition do to how little they get used compared to the front door checks -> I started by takin off the two 10mm nuts on the bolts coming through the door. The mechanism inside will now be able to be removed as soon as the pin is remove on the body side of the check arm.Got the pins out of the doors with a mallet-> I was trying to figure out the way to get the arms in and out of the assembly. I unfortunately spent a long time trying to line up roll pin with the arm and spacer . The light came on and it took me not much more than a minute to get 4 door arms out and the 2 door arms in. A teachable moment - grab the bracket with a vice grip and use a screwdriver to open up the assembly -> The arms on the 4 door arms are longer and have only one stop position; the 2 door has two stops on the arm -> You can see the difference here (2 door top) -> Completed -> All I had to do now was grease the assemblies up -> Got them installed last night and am kicking myself for not doing this sooner. Slipped them in through the speaker hole and bolted them down the nuts with the 10mm socket. Got the arm pin in with a really long Phillips screwdriver and a hammer just lightly tapping it in. So the rebuild works and it is super easy to do. Good Idea for the MJ too. It works perfectly now, but It’s hard not to flinch like a battered wife anticipating the door to come smashing back into me after swinging it open. It does make some noise, but once the grease gets all worked in I expect it to be quieter. HTH

  7. Heck ya! Steven and the Seagulls. Those guys are great 👍🏻. Never heard of Hayseed DixIe. I like it.
  8. Ahh, a U nut . Well, I got these free. I will have to get these when they start to become worn out.
  9. Now I see it!
  10. Not 100% sure, but isn’t that the JP magazine MJ? Looks like a lot of the same things on it. Theirs did catch fire, but just the engine bay was damaged.
  11. I made it to one LQK and the 2nd one locked the door in my face . I was just going in for the phone and possibly the rear view mirror. The half hour left would have been more than enough time to get the two items. I guess I understand. Found an 88 MJ in just horrible shape. Found a relay cover without the hold down clips, but I am sure someone will need it -> Picked that up along with a few other things. Found this thing -> I grabbed it. Looks like it is going to be helpful holding wire looms or hoses. Mounted it in the same location in the Jeep. The hole was already there . A few weeks back my mechanical fan took out my fan shroud because the wimpy clips let the mounting bolt back out -> I found a really stout clip nut (have no idea what they are called) in my MJ/XJ bolt collection. I just need three more of them. Problem was that I had no idea where it came from . I found a 2000 XJ in the yard and it had exactly the same thing on the top radiator support. You can see how much better these will be -> Got those on and then the electric fan & fan shroud bolted down -> I am confident that the will not be backing out.
  12. I almost did the open system, but I never had any problems with the closed when it was burped properly. My XJ runs very cool, so don’t change what works I guess.

    Yanked?

A lot of good opinions in that thread. It was important to hear a first hand account of what is happening. I don’t have a problem with your decision. Still upset for Jeff though.
  14. I here a lot more people say that they have issues with their strokers motors than I hear it’s great. I have always like to have one, but I don’t know with the lack of positive reviews . I talk to an engine rebuilder that does a lot of the 4.0s and asked him if I should do a mild cam etc when I have him rebuild it. He was I don’t think I should. Going to be more than enough with the rebuild and dependable. It was the first machine shop did not push me towards performance this and that. That had me sold. I am now at a point in my life that I just want simple and reliable.
  15. Great toy. I also like the cage. Where did you get the Stroker done at, or did you do it yourself? And are you happy you did it?
  16. ! It looks like it’s in amazing condition. I have been trying to respond with something for five minutes, but this says what I can’t A dream buy for sure. Head over to CJ-8.com and make a lot of people green with envy.
  17. Wow! Honey - your UPS package arrived!
  18. Thank you Pete
  19. Can anyone know how to decipher this tag on the new transmission please ->
  20. Thanks Pete. I will look. Smokeyyank . No way am I going to pay that! I have 230k on this one. Good advice Krustyballer16. Thanks.
  21. Well I lost 2 & 4th gear in the XJ . I know this because obviously I can tell and AAMCO confirmed it. They quoted me 2100 to 2500. Yikes. It is 1990 4.0 AW4 4x4. I am buying another 4wd AW4 with 89k on it. It is a 93-95. My question is can I put it in and just attach everything from the 90? I already have the newer np242 ready to go in with matching spline count, so I am good there.
  22. Alright alright alright! Congratulations
