Kenosha Warrior
Normally it won't do it on take-off or 2nd but 2-3 and 3-4 shifts it will stutter, shake and waddle like its a dog passing a pinecone. Oddly though, it won't do it all the time. I'm as confused as hell, I cleared out my airintake blockage, Ive put a new gascap on it, all EVAP lines are good, what is my problem!? argh its an 89 4.0 BA-10 5spd. Wildman
Sounds like a problem with the valve body or a solenoid. How 'red' does the fluid look??? How many clicks you have on that XJ???

Oizarod115
my truck was acting up between shifts and it turned out some dumbarse... (coughMEcough) had put the TPS in improperly. check the TPS to make sure its working, it would only do it between shifts and it felt like backfiring. fiatslug87
Check your EGR valve and transducer while you're at it.
Kenosha Warrior
How would I check the EGR? Its sorta like backfiring. But, now I see, that in-city I don't notice it, but if Ive got more than 1/4 tank, it won't do it.
