SuperWade2
do dealerships still sell comanche parts. i know they would be an expensive option i just want to know if they are an option if i need new mj parts. I got some small OEM Stuff online here - jeepoemparts.com, but after my second order, they basically said that I should call dealerships in the area and they basically didn't want to deal with me anymore... or at least they quit replying to my emails where I asked if they still wanted to take my money... But some dealerships should still have some parts available, or be able to look to see who does... SW2
JeepcoMJ
EVERY dealership can locate ANY parts that are still available and quoted as in stock in any system, through their searching services. now, the problem you get is that they aren't making much, if any, money on the product...so they basically lie to your face and won't take the time or effort to search. Renegade
Kinda depends on what you need. Most say the older Renix stuff is still no problem to get parts for, but I needed a molded vacuum line that had gotten loose & melted against the block. Dealer did a search & found only 5 left in the nation. Lots of parts have been renumbered & have to be cross referenced 3 times to get an up-to-date part #. Anybody's guess what will actually show up. This is just a side effect of having an older vehicle.
chicofuentes0224
The parts guy at my dealership laughed at me when I told him I needed parts for my Comanche the first time. The second dealership I called kept giving me an attitude when I kept asking for parts. So I went back to first dealership and once again asked for parts nicely. The first parts guy laughed again and told me to "trade my POS in for a Hundai ." So I found this forum and took care of the parts guy. Anyway, if you gotta deal with the dealer get ahold of BLHTAZ on this forum. Nice guy, works for a dealer, and got me a part that nobody around my area could get.

SuperWade2
Wade, why would that sight blow you off? Weird. james, you can also try www.teamcherokee.com I wish I knew... I ordered a couple things that came and did another order for some stuff and traded some emails and phone calls with the guy and he said there was a couple parts he couldn't get and it would be easier to get them local... There were 4 or 5 other parts that were included on the order that apparantly they didn't want to sell me... I won't use them again... BLHTAZ
now, the problem you get is that they aren't making much, if any, money on the product...so they basically lie to your face and won't take the time or effort to search. That is not even close to the truth. Not saying that there are not parts guys out there that will lie to you as I know better than that, BUT...the profit margin is the same on a 25 year old part as it is on a 2 year old. Certain types of parts have higher margins than others, but unless it is a part that has been on the shelf in the dealership for a VERY long time, they will not ever price something at "little or no profit". The problem is...a lot of guys in the parts departments just don't want to take the time to mess with the old stuff as it is a pain to find/get sometimes. There are a lot of parts still available through the dealership for our trucks...you just have to be willing to be patient to get them sometimes or pay for expidited shipping. Take this "from the horses mouth" as I work at Courtesy Chrysler-Jeep of Casselberry, Florida in the Parts Department ;) :D .

JeepcoMJ
BLHTAZ, that's exactly what I mean. it takes too much effort, and the sale isn't enough for their effort...a.k.a. the profit isn't enough for their search time.
BLHTAZ
Welll...they must not work for straight commission like I do then because it's worth my time to look up parts...that's how I pay the bills and build my Jeeps ;) I will be happy to help anyone out on here that may need/want something from the dealership. You don't have to buy it from me (but that can be arranged too ;) ) as I am happy to just help find out if it can be found if you need. I have already sold and shipped to a member on here and I have done it many times on a couple other sites that I frequent as well 8) .
WahooSteeler
I, for one, think that Taz offering his services is a super nice fringe benefit of being on this forum. And, that anyone who needs to try to get something thru a dealer shouldn't think twice about having Taz do the deal, even if it costs a few bucks more, regardless of the discount he is willing to pass on to us. To me, it's worth a small premium to know I've got someone that will do their best for me EVERY time and give me a straight answer on anything I ask. So Taz, I haven't had a need yet, but you'll be hearing from me sometime for sure. Hopefully others will do the same. Thanks again......
BLHTAZ
You're welcome  ...and I did forget to mention the discount thing myself. If you do buy from me, I am able to give a pretty good price at 5% over my employee cost... Plus shipping of course ;) . I am not "advertising" or begging for your business...just offeriing if I can be of assistance in ANY way 8) .
