krustyballer16 Posted yesterday at 11:46 AM Posted yesterday at 11:46 AM Who all in here has a 3D printer? I got a Creality K2 a couple months ago and have been running the crap out of it and love it so far! I haven't really designed anything on my own yet, I haven't messed with any programs enough to know which one I wanna use to design my own parts. But I've printed a lot of other people's files and sized them up for my needs. Whats your favorite or most useful CAD program or website that has all the different tools? Ive only printed in PLA and PETGA so far just to get the hang of it and try different settings
krustyballer16 Posted yesterday at 12:06 PM Author Posted yesterday at 12:06 PM Keychain I stopped by Bo's @shelbyluvv house over the summer and he's printed some cool stuff
Comanche SS Posted yesterday at 04:28 PM Posted yesterday at 04:28 PM For a beginner doing hobby design, Fusion 360 is hard to beat. I have been 3D printing for almost a decade now, been designing for even longer.
coheed Posted yesterday at 05:43 PM Posted yesterday at 05:43 PM I've had a heavily modified ender 3 pro for about 6 years. Had some CAD experience at previous jobs, and fusion 360 was the easiest for me to pick up, but I've only modified existing models, not made anything from scratch yet.
Smokeyyank Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago I got a Bambu PS1 over the summer and have used it a bunch, a lot of fidgets, and stuff for the wife but working on useful parts. It pissed me off so haven't used it a lot lately, fn clogged nozzles and extruder issues. Favorite print has been @TDI_Manche tailgate key holder. Most useful prints have been some storage bins for the kids legos and trinkets, printed a camera holder for the wifes rear dash cam, printed a bunch of girl scout badges for the kids troop and some other things. Next I want to print a gridfinity system for the tool boxes and print some molle panels for storage items. I tried to use tinkercad and failed. Just don't have the time to want to learn it all right now.
watchamakalit Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago This is something that has always interested me but I have yet to take the leap. What would be a good starting point for someone who has no idea what he is doing? Website suggestions on where to begin the learning curve? Suggestions for a decent quality beginner printer? Is there even such a thing or is it a buy once cry once kinda thing? I have no cad experience, except for about half a highschool semester, 30 yrs ago. And a very basic understanding of machine and machine work.

I know people don't like the oversight and info that is pushed back to bambu but works for me. Just wanted something that could work out of the box and grow a little. Creatlity is decent too. I got this one. Went with the enclosure because I do want to print ABS and some other things and a enclosure is helpful. https://us.store.bambulab.com/products/p1s?from=navigation This model was the best for my price point and features. I was able to get it for under $500 at the time. You can spend big on a printer but from what I've seen it really just becomes larger printing area, speed and limited waste when you go up in price. Nice thing is the app and you can just got find a model and print it. I have learned to use the desktop version which I find is needed to make some changes to the model before printing. Not always, but I almost always add a brim to my print because of so many failures. When you want to scale something need the desktop version but it's not too complicated.
