Need a rocker switch for fog light installation - 88 Comanche

I recently purchased some Hella Fog Lights for my 88' Comanche, (thanks to a recommendation from a Comanche Club member!)

I'm in need of a rocker switch, hopefully that matches what's already installed in the dash.

Am I better of going to a salvage yard or is there OEM switches available? I looked on Ebay and most switches fit late model Cherokee XJ's but I'm not sure they are the same size?

Appreciate any guidance!

Thx.

^^^

i understand this to be true, but 'many' years ago i used a switch obtained from parts store and put i in the space on dash for the oem fog....

it looks 'different' but is functional ( remember 'many' years ago)...

used an aftermarket relay for couple of retangular Chibie lights (these were GM parts counter units!)  which now don't work and unsure what i use to replace them.

also have seen many OEM switches on the evilbay....

The part number for that switch is 56000025. I have pulled several out of Cherokees from the junkyard. I am fairly certain that Jeep used the same switch for the power/comfort transmission switch.

Thanks. I checked a couple OEM dealers online for that part #. It's evidently been discontinued.

Looks like salvage yard is where I'm headed!

I sure wish my 1990 looked as good as yours!  I assume you must have gotten it repainted.  I did ask a shop once if they would quote a repaint and they said they would not touch it, apparently way too much prep work would be needed..:(

Hey, thanks yeah I got it repainted three years ago. It was rust free and straight as an arrow, but the paint was all faded out. They stripped it down and did a nice job. 5K Got it done.
