  1. Hey, thanks yeah I got it repainted three years ago. It was rust free and straight as an arrow, but the paint was all faded out. They stripped it down and did a nice job. 5K Got it done.
  2. Thanks. I checked a couple OEM dealers online for that part #. It's evidently been discontinued. Looks like salvage yard is where I'm headed!
  3. I recently purchased some Hella Fog Lights for my 88' Comanche, (thanks to a recommendation from a Comanche Club member!) I'm in need of a rocker switch, hopefully that matches what's already installed in the dash. Am I better of going to a salvage yard or is there OEM switches available? I looked on Ebay and most switches fit late model Cherokee XJ's but I'm not sure they are the same size? Appreciate any guidance! Thx. LB
  4. Keep me abreast. This winter is sucking here too! We just came out of an 84 hour polar vortex...and I ain't been out the house, accept once to check my propane tank level!
  5. I was just thinking that same thing. I've got a similar guy here.
  6. Amen! I really like the muscled up look. It 'finishes' the already timeless look of the best lookin' small pickup truck ever built! Thanks again!
  7. Wow! Looks good! I didn't know those bars were so "beefy" looking! Thanks for the pics! Nice truck!
  8. Hey Stricklyxjs,

You come highly recommended for your ability to find things!
I want a roll bar and brackets for my 88' MJ short box. Rare item I know!

I'll make it worth your while if you can find me a good one!

    Thanks,

    LB

I'll keep a look out here for you in the northeast. Plus if my boss gets any in that he is parting out. The trick is to search Facebook marketplace for just "roll bar" and keep doom scrolling until you fine one lol. That's how I found mine and for others on here. Most people have paid less than $100 for the ones I find because the average person doesn't know their worth. KKILMER  on here also parts out lots of mjs. He's out of Maine and might have some as well. Paid only 75 bucks for my long be bar the old guy I bought it from did house clean outs and had no clue what it was for. The trick is to be able to identify it.

Thank you! Have roll bar will travel!

  9. Thank you. I've considered the tonneau cover myself. Really want a roll bar!
  10. Thanks Pete! I'll start my search. PS. I put these 16" wheels on it that came off of a 2004 rubicon. My jury is still out on them! What's your opinion? Sometimes I think they look too big on the truck. I still have the original 15" white wagon wheels albeit in rough condition.
  11. Last year I finished the body work and paint on my 88' Pioneer short box. It's currently put to bed in storage due to the cold @$$ winter here in Ohio. There will be no rust on my watch! I refrained from putting the "Pioneer Stripes" back on and left her all black. But it still missing something! A roll bar! Do any ever come up for sale? Are there any companies fabricating new ones with exact specs and brackets? I'm after the look of the Eliminator in the ad below with full compliment of roll bar and fog lights. Thanks! LB
  12. okay thanks...I think there is something not quite right. Possible booster...not sure..thanks for the info!
  13. Ok, thanks! I saw that RockAuto has full drop-in brake kits from R1 Concepts with drilled and slotted rotors, etc. for about $325.00 https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=14109309&cc=1181584&pt=13824&jsn=485&jsn=485 Just not sure how much more "stopping power" this would buy me.
  14. The brakes on my 1988 Comanche are not very good. I have plenty of brake pedal and the rotors and pads are good, but it doesn't stop very fast. I'm concerned if I had to "slam" them on, I might not stop in time! I just saw a TV show where they upgraded the brakes on a Jeep Cherokee XJ to Powerstop brake rotors, pads and installed braided steel brake lines, (nice look too). On the Powerstop.com website they don't list any Comanche kits, however, they do list brake kits for late model Jeep Cherokee XJ's through 2001. Is it possible to upgrade 88' Comanche stock brakes to Powerstop brakes using the Cherokee XJ kit? Thanks, LB 4.0!
  15. Awesome thanks for all the help. I like the look of those Marchal's! Nice! Thanks again! LB
