Whitaker717
Hi guys I need some emergency help. The good news is I fixed the vent issue. The bad news is I had to take the lower dash balance off so everything was disconnected. Once I got everything put back together the idle is so high it sounds like a jet plane. It’s almost like the computer isn’t talking to the engine or something. I don’t see any loose or disconnected hoses. I unplugged the battery , the iac, and tps and no luck. Can someone give me a troubleshooting hand.
Whitaker717
So going through some trouble shooting, looked at the hoses they looked good, tps was like 4.87 I think, cleaned the iac, and somehow it is back normal. Are those iac’s that temperamental? Anyone have any reccomendations for a new one?Or even have a working used one.

Whitaker717
What’s weird is I drove all day turned it off and when I turned it back on it sounded like an airplane. Idling time now though.
pizzaman09
Check to make sure something isn't catching the throttle linkage, either in the footwell or engine bay.
watchamakalit Posted yesterday at 12:46 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:46 AM Loose manifold bolts causing a intermittent vacuum leak can cause a surging or occasionally high idle.

This is what I was thinking since you were under the dash already
BizarroStormy
Make sure your throttle position sensor is not binding, that will cause your computer to open your idle air control valve all the way up.
