This is Cherry Pie. My 1989 Jeep Comanche Eliminator. That's right, mine.

4.0L/ Automatic/ 2wd/ Dana 35/ Short Bed

Current Location: Wisconsin

Status: RACE TRUCK

I bought this truck 2 years ago for my friend. He never paid me back for it. There's no rust aside from a light outer layer on the floor of the cab; it was a Florida truck its whole life until my friend let it sit in his yard doing nothing for 1.5 years. It was such a shame to see it sit there and rot, while he also wasn't paying me for the truck I bought him, so I repossessed it and keep it safely out of the Wisconsin snow.

It's well optioned, it had AC, fog lights, the cargo light, power/comfort switch, tachometer cluster, bucket seats and door pockets. Really the only thing I wish it had is Cruise Control.

As of January '25, the first priority is an open loop cooling conversion, there's a fuel leak near the tank, and it needs window seals and basically every moving part in the passenger door is broken.

Long term goals include a lowering kit (probably about 2" so I don't have to cut anything or have clearance issues), manual swap, and maybe if I find a 3.07 Dana 44, one of those too. I want to put smaller tires on it and the 3.07 ratio would be more ideal than the 3.55s it has.

I may keep this thread updated, but will probly just restart the youtube series if I can ever get the motivation to do videos again.

Nice truck, should be a fun build.

On another note, this should get moved into the projects...doesnt really seem like it needs to be in the registry.

You’re probably right. It would be cool to see a build thread for this truck.

I started to get into a lowered street truck build. See the link: 1988 MJ Eliminator Street Truck AWD, LS, AX15

It has some good info on lowering, AWD, Disc brake, etc. for @WAEMID IV

Glad to see you getting into an MJ on the site, been following your youtube adventures for years.

I really enjoyed that build and was sad to see it get passed on down the road. I get why though. And the tin Indian makes up for it
