89 MJ
Newcomer has done it again. This time with a 1000+ horsepower 4.0. I’m impressed.
Eagle
What I love is that he's NOT using the new-style, lightweight crank. Yes, it's aftermarket, but the original Jeep engines in this series (the 199, 232 and 258 c.i.d.) all had seven counterweights on the crank -- one between each connecting rod journal. Jeep reduced that the four counterweights in the interest of reducing reciprocating mass. I've always felt that was a mistake -- especially when at the same time they wanted less noise and vibration. The seven counterweight crank runs much smoother.
Salvagedcircuit
Man this guy's got it. Dang. If I ever had the budget to make a stroker street comanche, I'd definitely get an engine combo from him. crazyyy.
Car Enthusiast
Bonkers! I am surprised he is running that through a stock block and an off the shelf head
AeroNautical
Keith built my brothers stroker for his XJ and featured it in a video. He's ridden in my Comanche to help diagnose a hesitation, then sold me some dirt cheap injectors to fix it. He's a good dude.
pizzaman09
It's an impressive build. I'm amazed that it's stock bearings and block, basically it held together with 1000hp.

I think with properly tuned efi and a bigger cam you could make North of 1200hp
Swampy
Things like this make me question if i truly want to get rid of the 4.0l in my mj. I don't want 1000hp but like 250-300 would be nice mainly cause of the highway. my doubler takes all the work offroad but on the highway 65mph+ its a workout. I havent fully decided what to do yet

TurboedMJ
One day he will crack 2000hp with one of these. Probably not soon but it can definitely be done.
