87MJTIM
We had a heavy rain the other day. A puddle of water accumulated on the driver's side floor (I pulled the carpet out a while ago until I can find the source of the leak). Feeling around on the floor for a water path and looking for drops hanging down from anything, I found drips on the fuse box. Is there a gasket or sealer I can put in between the two halves to stop the leaking?
Warren99
I have the same issue, but I ain't gonna make a guess so I'll be watching for an answer too
zomeizter
I took apart the fuse box and main connector on my MJ a while back and used some high end clear silicone around the perimeter of the assembly, this took care of ONE leak source. At least on my beast, any and all perforations on the engine compartment side of the cab cause water intrusion. These will be addressed once the V6 dies and a real engine swap is performed. 87MJTIM
I have been busy with work the past few months. I have not had time to do anything with the MJ (or anything around the house). I did replace a faucet in the bath not too long ago. While forming plumber's putty on the fixture, I thought "why not try this around the fuse box?" I could form a bead around the engine bay side of the box. It is not water soluble, doesn't stain, and remains soft over a long time. Am I missing something? ghetdjc320
Have you tried to determine why the water is getting to the bulkhead connector in the first place? Is the hood to cowl seal good? Is the seam sealer on the sides still good? Is the cowl leaking down the firewall?

If water is getting down to the bulkhead area, it’s only a matter of time before it makes its way in through another seam or hole into the cab if it can’t get through the bulkhead connector. Water just shouldn’t generally be there. I know there are times when a few drops can get in there which is why I add a small drain hole from that area to the wheel well. I don't think the plumber's putty will remain soft indefinitely when subjected to high underhood temperatures. I'd use silicone caulking or something else similar.
