Muncher
My friend just picked up a 03 tj rubicon for 2 grand. Needs a water pump ignition switch and a little cosmetic work. But for 2 grand that's insane. If I was just buying my truck or had the option for that deal it'd be a hard choice
eaglescout526
Given that the TJ is also going up in value, that’s probably a steal for some folk on your side of the country if it’s a clean rust free TJ.

That's the messed up part. Besides the fenders and grill where there's damage that caused surface rust there's literally no rust at all. I see plenty of rotted framed tjs go for 2500 to 3000 all the time not to mention those are bone stock ones as well
eaglescout526
I mean when you got a few different types of people who sell things. those who just want it gone those who don’t know what they have and just want it to go to a good home and then you start getting into those who know what they have. CGCWO
Down here in NW Florida you can't find a Jeep of any type for less than $5k that isn't roached out.

mjeff87
When I traded my TJ on the KJ, it had a pretty worrisome rod knock (that's why I traded it). I knew the dealership was planning on making bank on it on a resale, and that's why they gave me a good deal on the KJ and trade value. Good on them, the salesman worked really hard to get his deal and deserved some payback. About 3-4 days after the trade, I realized I still had the back seat from the TJ down in my shed, so I loaded it up and took it down to them. Saw my salesman and he just looked at me and shook his head and laughed.......seems the TJ windowed the block they day after I traded it and they decided to just send it to auction as-is. He basically lost his shirt on the whole deal. I was tempted to find which auction they sent it to, but didn't. Don't know what it ever sold for, but it had to be for way cheaper than it was worth. Somebody got a mint TJ with a couple bolt-ons (bumpers, tire carrier, etc) with a blown engine for a steal.
