jeeptec1
Who here has done a long arm upgrade? I ordered a long arm kit from Core 4x4 a 4 link set up. The frame brackets bolt to the bottom of the frame and wrap around the outside of the frame. That’s where the issue lies. Comanche and Cherokee are different. Comanche has welded on cab supports. Cherokee does not! I’m thinking most manufacturers assume Comanche and Cherokee are the same. Wrong! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
watchamakalit
Contact Core. Their customer support is superb. They will be happy to work with you to remedy the problem, I am sure. I have their track bar and adjustable short arms and they were very helpful through all my install.

watchamakalit
I don't have any experience with the long arm kit. Did you try the search?
MiNi Beast
Yeah you need to do some grinding and removals of lower control arm brackets and trim a little to get things to fit into what you got going. Its not seemingly that big a ordeal but a pita none the less for a bolt on kit.
89eliminator
any XJ kit that wraps the unibody will have this same issue. just gotta cut the long arm mounts where they interfere.

I don’t mind cutting and modifying the bracket but there product website states lifetime warranty. I break it no questions warranty. But some state if you modify no warranty!Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
jeeptec1
I received an email from Core 4x4 this morning. They accidentally sent XJ brackets instead of MJ brackets. Cool problem solved. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
watchamakalit
Good deal. Core seems to be a really stand up company. Glad you got your problem solved.
JMO413
Wondering how you liked the long arms after they got you the right brackets. I didn't realize core had a long arm kit.
jeeptec1
I ended up selling the long arm kit to a buddy of mine who has a Cherokee. Then sold the Comanche. I really liked my Comanche but realized I was not going to use it the way I wanted to. I needed a vehicle that can tow 5500 lbs. Comanche was good for 2500. I did buy a WJ so I did NOT leave the Jeep family. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
trinity5007
For a side note I did a custom long arm kit on mine. With a 6.5 inch lift I wish I had done a long arm first instead of a short arm. In terms of stability and ride quality... if you are going to get a lift and are one the fence... anything over a 3 inch I would go long arm. You will be alot happier with it. Mine rides smoother then a Cadillac. Just saying.
