notice the bold sections

so i replied as follows:

Thank you for your time, however I'm quite sure this information is

not accurate. 1988 Cherokee's did not have air bags, nor did it have a

3.xL engine, or a 46RE transmission.

-Dave

and received this unedited response

Dear David:

Thank you for contacting the Jeep Customer Assistance Center in regards

to your 1988 Jeep Cherokee.

The information that was provided is correct. All the options provided

goes with the vehicles ID number. We apologize that your fill that is

incorrect information.

This vehicle was also built in Canada.

Thanks again for your email.

Sincerely,

Jessica

i'm not sure what "your fill that is incorrect information" means, but they apologized for it?

also, i guess VIN's cannot be trusted since my VIN starts with 1, indicating it was made in the good ol' US of A, because Jessica says it was made in Canada.

[sarcasm]i completely trust what chrysler says now[/sarcasm]

Funny, I got mine back today too. A few pieces of incorrect info. It's pretty cool to know my 211k '88 is actually a hybrid. I wonder if I can get some tax credits from it? "Uhhh, well Uncle Sam, here's my docs from Chrysler saying it's a hybrid, so what's the problem?" rtft.gif

build sheet for my mj has a formula one package and a v10 under the hood... I could only wish... :D

I actually spoke with several people at Chryco, and found out that their system reuses codes older than 10 years, and replaces them with current vehicle info. one would think there would be a monkey smart enough to make some slight changes to the system to make the codes last much longer, or something, but they seem to just get rid of the old and go with the new.

also, most parts for vehicles older than 25yrs old become discontinued, unless they are part of the classic/muscle/retro department. thats fairly straight forward though.

Jessica wasn't apologizing. She meant she was sorry that you "feel" the information is incorrect.

In other words, she was being condescending and saying "You idiot, I can't help it if you don't know what's in your vehicle. I ran it through my computer so I KNOW this is what you have. If you don't like it, tough cookies."
