Base or Pioneer?

How do I know if I have a Base or Pioneer MJ? And does it matter when looking at parts?

The 8th digit of the VIN would say depending on the year and all 86-92 parts interchange with the exception of the 91-92 fuel sending unit, engine components, and interior connections

When I do the VIN decode its unclear which trim package it is... Unless I am not using the correct decoder.

We have the ability here to decode the VINs better than the internet does.

4.0L, 5 Sp. Manual, 2WD, SWB, Dark Baltic Metallic, Pioneer
