JStone
I’m sure we’ve all seen the soggy diaper ceiling before, my previous owner decide just to put a pin or 50 in it to hold it Anyone have any cool retro fits or repairs/replace they’ve done? or should I just stick with the colorful pins? Dzimm
Get some fabric and apart glue and recover it. On my XJ I took the fabric off, brushed the glue off and then threw some extra bed liner I had on it.

PCO6
I replaced the ceiling fabric in XJ last summer. It didn't look forward to taking out all of the trim but it was a pretty easy job once I got going. The worst part was going into Fabricland. I was a bit out of my element amongst all of the old bitties who out numbered me by about 30 to 1. I bought enough fabric to do my XJ and my MJ which I'll do this summer. The cost for both was about $70. I bought grey material that's a near perfect match for the original. Being a bit heavier it was easy to work with. The sun visors in both vehicles were in great shape so I wanted to match them. The material I bought was "Winchester Coating". I think it's used in parts of coats (pockets, liners, etc.). I asked if it would help keep my Jeep warmer and the lady didn't even crack a smile. I guess they take fabric seriously. I used 3M Super 77 Spray Adhesive which was very easy to work with. One can would do an MJ. 3M 77-CCVOC30-EF 77 Super Multipurpose Adhesive Aerosol, Clear 16.75 Oz. I used 2 cans of the 3M product I posted above and it was plenty. I had about a quarter of a can left over.

JStone
Since I’ve got just a little cab I’m considering doing it myself, but I did message the SMS headliners to see his product pricing. I’m also considering on moving away from the traditional grey, most likely a heavy dark grey or even black, have any of you changed interior color and had it look good? I wouldn't recommend a dark-colored headliner, as it will make the entire interior of the vehicle darker. Unless that is your intent...
Jesse J
well here's how I did my headliner ( I have been debating writing it up in diy) but pretty much I got my old headliner fiber board and took some 80 grit sandpaper and I got all the old crusty stuff off. then for the mouse holes and the broken parts I templated out some cardboard and used some duck tape to tap it on. the tape didnt stick very well so I used some 3m upholstery adhesive to stic it on. then I too the same adhesive and sprayed my entire headliner just to kinda "bind" it all together so the headliner board didn't become deattached from itsef, I let that dry completly for an hour so it became deactive. then I laid my headliner fabric I got from sms auto fabric (it's 85$ a yard but you only need a yard and matches the interior great) then lay it over your headliner and fold one half over then spray glue over about a 1 foot section (I used 2 coats just for more stickyness) then after 5 to 10 minutes once it is very tacky not wet or dry fold it over gently and press firmly. rinse repeat. then cut a couple inches away from the board flip your headliner and glue and fold it around. don't forget to add the holes for the visors. you cut the headliner in the middle and fold. let me know if you have any questions hope this helped. the comanche bit is just some 1/4 foam core I cut out but the idea is the same. I havent taken any pics of it done yet
