Muncher Posted October 9, 2020 Posted October 9, 2020 So I think I'm going to get a hidden winch mount from bad fab mounts on Facebook. To anyone who has one of his or has a hidden winch how much of the radiator support do you have to cut out?

fiatslug87 Posted October 9, 2020 Posted October 9, 2020 The factory one spaces the bumper out, some after market tuck the winch back. Don't know about Bad fab, but Boostwerks requires something like this:

He says that the cut you make doesn't matter because it reinforces the whole front end with all the mounting points

Pete M Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 Is this because modern winches are larger than the old ones and so don't fit the space? or because modern Jeepers tend to by winches that are way stronger than the old ones necessitating a stronger structure?
OldSch88L Posted October 10, 2020 Posted October 10, 2020 Will defenitely follow his thread since I want the same thing eventually. Just to be clear, other than adding a fairlead, these hidden winch mounts should let you keep the stock bumper, right?
