I am going to rebuild my NP231 before I do the AX15 swap, since I will have to exchange the input shaft anyway. While I have the transfercase apart, should I go ahead and get a regular lenght SYE kit? - Rich

The only reason not to is the cost. But if you can afford a heavy-duty SYE kit plus a new driveshaft, then by all means go for it. :D It's a good upgrade.

I thought it might be a good idea, but I did not know that a new driveshaft was needed? But for around what Motion is selling them for, it should be worth it. How much more could the driveshaft be?

mine was $169 from Performance off road center, and it is the same as the AA one. There are very few companies actually "making" a sye kit, most of them are reboxed. (Mine was made in China or Japan)

The HD ones are so cheap now that's there's NO EXCUSE for getting a POS Hack'n'crap one.

A driveshaft costs a bit. You can get a front driveshaft retubed/lengthened to get the job done. That's what mine is at least. I spent $120 on the retube, plus I provided a boneyard core ($30). Your prices will vary.
