I'm in the same boat as you lol, previous owner basically put a comanche and cherokee harness together and now I'm fighting electrical problems galore. If anyone knows how to rectify this I'm all ears. I emailed painless wiring about them making me a custom harness but havent heard back yet.

I heard Ohm knows the electrical pretty well on these rigs.  I’m busy busy this time of year with my work so I’m impotently picking away at this.

Let me know if you hear anything back from them.

Update. Progress is slow. Got rear shock mounts properly welded in. Pulled the mounts off an old F150 axle and had them welded onto the 8.8” rear end.

DriveShaft was too short. The driveline shop in Springfield mismeasured but did fix free of charge but somehow the wrong flange made it on to the rear. COVID-19 is making everything a serious challenge.

So I’ve been on the big island for 9 days and yesterday while driving my rental Gladiator I came across what has to be a full on unicorn on the Hawaiian Islands. This one is in the vicinity of the Captain Cook area. I’ll be home on the 20th and that’s when I’ll get serious about getting Tulsa road worthy and selling the Rubicon to fund the build. Just thought it was way cool to find a Comanche in Hawaii.

We were there last year and we seen that same one. There was also a ragged out one at the green sand beach way down on the southern tip.

Glad you got to go to the Big Island. I wonder how many more Comanches are languishing on that island. Can’t be very many.

I used to live not 10 min from that uncles house! There’s actually a handful of them lurking around The Big Island believe it or not and a few of them are still roaming the streets too! Keep your eye out for a stock white one with no tailgate & a brown one with a mild lift and bloggers both of those uncles live right outside of Kona town and daily there Comanches! What a small world hahaha

Well the next time I’m there, I’ll have to check it out. Mahalo!

Finally sold my Jeep Wrangler so it’s time to get busy. Purchased a few items this weekend.

purchased 5 JLRubicon takeoffs from FB Marketplace and also went ahead and purchased my winch for this rig. Went with the Smittybilt Gen 3 9500 with synthetic rope. Had good luck with the last smittybuilt winch I had. Just can’t justify spending over twice for a Warn Zeon.

Great stuff you got there. Looking forward to seeing more of your updates.

Thank you.

Drove out to Augusta, KS and picked up a 7’ box. I think Tulsa’s box is a bit too hacked up.

Also ordered a set of MMax fender flares from Notch Customs today.

This box is in better overall shape than the one that sits on Tulsa.

Just ordered manta ray rear bumper from dirtbound off-road along with tow hitch. I had originally planned on the JCR rear bumper. Both offer provisions to flush mount extra lighting but decided to go with DO’s Manta Ray because of the license plate provision.

both bumpers are top notch.  can't go wrong   :comanche:

also, you don't really need to explain each individual edit. :L:   we're far more laid back than that. :D

Thanks for the advice. Good to know this isn’t Reddit lol.

Ordered a set of wheel adapters off Amazon.  They sent me 2” thick 4.5”-4.5” spacers. 😡 done with them. No humans to verify jack. Ordered a set of hopefully non Chinese made adapters fro Quadratech. They’re more than twice the price. For grins and giggles just imagined what the JL Rubi wheels look like. Also bought these problems” replacements with a Crown track bar and 2-5” Fox 2.0 shocks all the way around. Should be getting a decent 96 Cherokee parts jalopy here shortly for a couple hundred bucks.

I'm extra interested to hear what you think of the Notch flares when you get those going!

Will definitely keep you posted. Haven’t seen the M-MAX flares in person but they’re the most attractive offerings I’ve seen. To me they look the closest to what Jeep would have done if they would have done bigger wells and flares from the factory.

I like some of the others alright, but my wife only likes the M-MAX in the pictures. I'm really curious how easy they are to install or how much tweaking they take.

I’ve noticed that driver side long bed pics of the M-MAX don’t really exist. In talking with the fine chaps at Notch, they say modding is necessary to the driver side rear flare to accommodate the fuel filler door because it’s closer to the wheel well on the 7’ box vs the 6’ box. Sounds like you have to “Notch” the flare. Ba dump dump...I’ll show myself out...
