krustyballer16
1990 Eliminator (supposedly, this is the reason I'm doing the vin decoder) 4.0/aw4/231 dana 30/35 SWB Build date: can't read the sticker, painted over. Current Location: Cory,IN I got it from a guy in Marengo,IN that got it from the 1st or 2nd owner. Status: we put the 4.0 back together and it runs and would drive if I had money and time to plate it and fix a few small things Notes: This is where I need the decoding work! It's an eliminator, title says...but it has a BENCH SEAT and floor shift with mini console, tilt wheel, manual doors (all in matching grey), rear slider, no A/C, rear bumper, full gauges It is white with grey interior. All the help with clearing up the bench seat question is appreciated. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk

eaglescout526
Also one of my manuals gives a true decoding of what each digit means and there is a letter that means which package the truck has. I’ll have to post that up somewhere
krustyballer16
Yep, looks like the seat and console were swapped for some reason... damn. And your other book tells if it's an eliminator or not?I have no idea what any or the other codes mean. Minuit
At least in 1991, you COULD get an Eliminator with a mini console but I have to imagine that almost never actually happened. Bucket seats in "Luggage" fabric were always a requirement to my knowledge, and I think it had to have a grey interior too.
JMO413
Sixth digit is a 6 and it's not a Cherokee sport.

Looks like a Cherokee sport is comparative to the Eliminator.
JMO413
The VIN sure meant allot more back then! I have all the pictures of the books saved for easy reference. It tells all the basics.
eaglescout526
My parts catalogue really shows its age. Chrysler really changed how the VIN gets decoded after

There was no VIN decode in the good old paper days.
