Warren99
I'm planning on making my own front bumper for my MJ. Here is a general idea of what I'm going for. Feel free to give critiques or suggestions.

Pete M
looks good on the outside. what's the substructure going to be?
DirtyComanche
Pretty regular design. Angle the parts that meet the fender flares more, or you'll be cutting them off later for tire clearance. Make sure a Hi-Lift can actually get under it safely in multiple places. Unless you have no intention of using it for that. Make sure the brackets that attach it go back as far as the holes for the tow hook, and pick up the steering box holes. Make sure there's inner plates too. Vakarian
Looks similar to the design I have on my Comanche just without a brush guard. For additional strength I would recommend that the shackle points are inline to the frame. This would reduce / eliminate any additional stress being put on the bumper as the load path would be directly into the frame and not have to travel through the bumper before reaching the frame. barimpact
Critique: I like it Suggestion: Build it! It looks similar to what I have on one of my XJs, but cleaner. But think of it like this: if you're thinking up something similar to a popular product, you're doing something right
