13 Legion
Have we ( you or Eagle!)figured out who has the earliest build date and the last build date?
JMO413
I have no idea. I just copied and pasted the build sheets. I had to type in the body model and build dates. The only build date I can remember is 8/8/88. I was doing it on dual screens at work during dead time. Was fun to see all the pictures though. They're gone now, but I've owned very early example of both the XJ and MJ. I rescued them from oblivion, and eventually passed them along to brethren from NAXJA. The XJ was a very early '84 XJ Wagoneer. I've had two '86 MJs, one of which was rescued from a scrap yard. All of the early ones I had were four-bangers. The reason I think at least one of the '86 MJs was very early is that there was something (which I don't remember now) that was different about the rear suspension than any other MJ I've ever seen. Production changes are often a clue. I encountered the same thing with AMC Javelins. The one I bought new (1968 production) had staggered rear shocks, to combat axle hop over bumps. I later picked up another, 1967 production, on which both shocks came down behind the rear axle. It did make a difference.

The earliest build date I found in '86 was 8/5/85 if I remember correctly. I just returned home from vacation so I'm going to work on all this stuff and finish up the '88 registry. I may be on to something as far as trim levels with the body codes that JMO posted,

eaglescout526
I did not touch ‘92 sadly. My best guess would be either may or June for the last production as I noticed that new model years began on July and ended in June of that model year.
