MJXJjeepguy
Well not much update lately, changed oil pan, rear main seal, oil pump, and fresh oil change. Alot of bolt on oil pan Hard part is take oil pan down u will need 4 or 5 different size of flathead screwdriver tapping by hammer easily little by a time u don't want damaged bottom of block. Finally got it remove for like hour, whew! Remove rear main and put new seal in. Paint oil pan in red along with new blue felpro gasket! No more leaking!! Gat'79
I am about to tackle this very same job. However, I am unsure of my rear main seal, if it is as easily replaced without dropping the transmission. I have an 86 with the V6 manual 4x4.

Idk about that one, never experienced with 2.8 GM you should go and start thread in modification and repair tech so much eyes ball out there i sure there tons of guys with experienced with 2.8 GM engine. By the way on 4.0 no u don't need to remove or anything with transmission for rear main seal. and there is tons of write-up on how-to: replace the rear main seal. MJXJjeepguy
Alright guys, not much update with MJ, but here what i did, i found good shape of cargo switch, unfortunately there is no cargo light len, and also i grab fog light switch with rear window defrost out of XJ. Cut it in half with flat bar and razor. And then overlap on cargo switch to make 2 switch in one panel. I need to find something to cover the line to make it look clean! Overall I'm happy with it.
