mancheflo
If I were to clean these with a wire wheel brush, will they be more likely to rust after?
JMO413
Aluminum doesn't rust. They may be more likely to corrode if they currently have clear coat over the aluminum. I would try spray on wheel cleaner first and a good scrubbing then power wash.
mattbuch96
If I were to clean these with a wire wheel brush, will they be more likely to rust after? Those look like alloy aluminum wheels, I don’t think they will ever rust, but I wouldn’t use a wire wheel. I would get some sort of aluminum polish compound and use a rag or a pad on a drill to polish them. I like the mothers polish, it’s a cream polish. Works really good.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Jeep Driver
You'll clean those one time, you'll never clean aluminum wheels again.
DesertRat1991
No way on the wire wheel. Unmount the tires and try power washing first. Scrub, claybar, then polish.
Smokeyyank
Wire wheel will scratch them. Since You're dealing with oxidization you need to give them a solid deep clean and polish. Or just say f it and paint them or leave them. If you want to clean them up it will take some time. I recommened this stuff. Pricey but works amazing. https://www.ammonyc.com/shop/ammo-plum-whee-cleaner/
MuddFoot
I used HVAC coil cleaner. It took off all the crap and made them look great. Nu calgon coil bright it's like a purpleish blue color. Mix per directions.Sent from my moto e5 play using Tapatalk
mancheflo
Before and after, I just combined lemon juice, dawn soap and some baking powder and a little elbow grease and I think it turned out really well, still need to clean them a little more because I plan on just painting them eventually
