GreasemonkeySC Posted July 29, 2018 Posted July 29, 2018 Will a 97+ XJ side mirror for a 92 MJ door? I saw a set of motors on a parts XJ that looked bigger than my mirrors. I tow a good bit, and would love the larger mirror.
JeepSchmidt O'Guinness Posted July 29, 2018 Posted July 29, 2018 Then mount truck mirrors. The amc's had them.

ScottJeep Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 They fit just fine. Have them. But, IMHO, the vertical frame of the vent window is very distracting.
KANTANKRUS Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 Yes, I just installed 2000 Cherokee mirrors on my 1987 Comanche. Key point is to retain the fasteners of the Cherokee mirrors, as the Comanche fasteners are different.
GreasemonkeySC Posted August 1, 2018 Author Posted August 1, 2018 I thought about the 97+ front end & door swap. One piece power windows! My wife will have a melt down if I start doing a bunch of stuff to the manche. I've already got my Rubi that is so far gone it sucks to drive daily. That's what the manche is for.Can you get away with only swapping the doors? There's a 97+ specific junk yard in the up state that can source anything I need.
Eagle Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 Yeah, but just think how nice those power windows will be in a daily driver ...
GreasemonkeySC Posted August 1, 2018 Author Posted August 1, 2018 Yeah, but just think how nice those power windows will be in a daily driver ... Yer Killin me!I wanna swap the doors now. But then it will need paint, and..............That got expensive quick!

That got expensive quick! Whole lot cheaper to pick up a couple of new power regulators, some window switches with harness from an XJ, then and wire everything up using your original doors. Easy-peazy.
