Master7122
I’m swapping over from internal to external slave and I’m replacing the pilot bearing. I was told to put in a 73 cj 350 V8 one (part # pb77hd) but this one doesn’t have little roller bearings like my internal one did? Still good to use or was i lead in the wrong direction
gogmorgo
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the pilot bushing/bearing change only needed if you're swapping from the Peugeot trans to an AX15?
Master7122
I’m not sure, it’s an 88 that had the ba10 but the kid i bought it off of put in a blown up Ax15 so while it’s getting rebuilt. I’m swapping to external

DirtyComanche
Prior to using pilot bearings, pilot bushings were used. That's what is used when bolting a later AX-15 to a Renix, and what you bought. It will work fine. You swapping in a whole external slave trans, or rebuilding the one that's in there?

Early ones (89/90) use a pilot bearing that's off the shelf, the later ones use the bushing. When you get the trans back see if the pilot bushing fits nice on the snout of the input shaft. If it doesn't, you need a bearing, which will come with the clutch kit for a 90 XJ/MJ with an AX-15.
Big Dan
Starting in.. I don't know, 92 or 93, the AX15 used a .75 inch input shaft. The BA 10, as well as earlier AX15s, used a .59 inch shaft.
