Looking for a set of Cordovan/Burgundy halo headrests (the ones with the center cut out) and a set of factory floor mats in the same color
-
I understand that but I'm in the process of restoring a comanche so they need to be for 2 door xj or mj. The 4 door switch would throw everything off
-
I appreciate the generosity but id rather have someone that needs them for a cherokee get them. The driver side one wouldnt be staying in the truck
-
I'm looking for a set of chrome power window switches for my comanche. I need everything to convert to power windows so bonus points if you have all the wiring/relays etc. I have plenty of comanche parts to trade or id buy depending on price and condition.

Master7122 replied to Master7122's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thank you, that was all i was finding, figured i could use it but maybe hidden somewhere there was an oem one -
Searching online for an inner shift boot for my comanche, can’t seem to locate a specific one (non look like the one i removed) curious if anyone’s used a different style/kind with good results?

Gas spills out neck when full
Master7122 replied to Master7122's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thank you! Judged ordered the 2 valves and gasket -
When i fill my comanche up to full, gas shoots out of the filler neck then it stops. Is there like a check valve that could go wrong? It used to stop the gas pump on its own... been doing it for about 3 fill ups now. It’s a lwb if it makes a difference with tank size

What all do i take from a ZJ for the swap? There’s tons in my local junkyars

Thank you guys super helpful! I’m missing parts 11,23,26 per eagles picture
-
Does anyone have a picture of what the Dana 44 drum brake insides look like? I’m pretty sure mine are missing a couple components (mainly parking brake pieces) My comanche doesn’t have a working parking brake or lines even going to the drum for one
-
I know this is hard to find but if anyone would like to part with one please let me know. Just looking for the switch panel

I agree 100% that’s why I’m mind blown, I’ll let go of the gas to gain traction and the second i give it gas it’ll loose traction and begin to wheel hop...
-
Yes i drive with a lead foot, but even if i baby it in the rain i still spin the tires slightly when the clutch grabs, I’ll research ladders bars. Even if it’s overkill if it works it works
-
Has anyone experienced wheel hop as soon as the tires break loose? It happens to me all the time in the rain/snow ect anyone have a fix to it? I see some old school trucks with bars under the leafs springs? Not sure if Comanche’s could use them. It’s a lwb and 4x4 if that makes a difference

Yes it was full coming home

I recently swapped from the Peugeot trans to the AX15 in my 88 comanche. I also converted it to external slave (trans came from a 94 XJ so it was already external) everything went smoothly, trans didn’t leak a drop of fluid the entire way home in the back of my bed. Now that it’s installed it’s leaking like crazy from the bellhousing (as if the input shaft was leaking?!?) i used the correct pilot bearing, AX15 clutch kit ect... i know it’s trans fluid because it’s thicker and smells like gear lube but to be safe i replaced the rear main, oil pan and valve cover gasket... still leaks

Trans to transfer case gasket
Master7122 replied to Master7122's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thanks guys, I’ll just bolt the 2 together and calll it a day -
I pulled apart my trans and transfer case so i can rebuild my trans. When i removed the 2 it seemed like there wasn’t a gasket? Maybe a light coat of rtv? So if there a gasket i can buy or just rtv? I read on another forum you don’t even need a gasket

Pilot bearing question
Master7122 replied to Master7122's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I’m not sure, it’s an 88 that had the ba10 but the kid i bought it off of put in a blown up Ax15 so while it’s getting rebuilt. I’m swapping to external -
I’m swapping over from internal to external slave and I’m replacing the pilot bearing. I was told to put in a 73 cj 350 V8 one (part # pb77hd) but this one doesn’t have little roller bearings like my internal one did? Still good to use or was i lead in the wrong direction
