700126 TYC - HVAC Blower Motor with hole on the wrong place.

Recommended Posts

Return it! I had the same problem but I waited too long to get to the project. The cooling port is clock wrong and you'll have to be creative to make it work, the manufacturer does not include the hose as pictured in the description (contacted rockauto about this), I used two jeep cooling hoses to make it work. Shouldn't have bothered Its a crap motor I need to replace it because the kids don't get enough air in the back (XJ, mj if there are kids In the back they got plenty of air), the different speeds are only slightly more powerful than the next and max ac cools the front just enough but the volume of air is less than the factory motor pushed.

I'm looking at vdo pm272 as a replacement. Rock auto sells it as does autozone, someone else (pep boys?) sold a fan under that number but if you dig it's a four seasons fan part #, which has mixed ratings

Did you read the reviews on that POS before you bought it? It's a C.R.A.P. NQR (Not Quite Right) product.

Is this company's engineering staff a team of 5 year olds? Did these morons even LOOK at a Jeep blower motor before they decided to grace the market with their $#!&ty product?

How do you get something so wrong and let it out the door, and even worse, have the balls to charge $40 for it? There are no words in the English language to describe how much I hate aftermarket parts.

Just a quick update I finally got around to replacing the POS TYC blower motor. Found a made in the USA new old stock motor (ACI 331831), man what a difference!

Noticeable difference in how the motors look too.

New motor was without plug in and blower wheel so I reused the plug and squirrel cage from the TYC blower motor, only good parts on the damn thing.

Only excuse I can think of for the TYC motor being so awful (besides its crap) is maybe they wired it wrong for clockwise /anti clockwise rotation, to anyone thinking about the TYC I’d warn you it has poor power and is built wrong, avoid it and find a made in the USA motor if you can.

The fault lies with us, The Comsumer, who keeps looking for lower prices. WalMart mentality. So we get WalMart quality parts. Or Harbor Freight Tools.

And I just purchased a $20 Harbor Freight step drill because I was too cheap to spend $58 for a quality Milwaukee step drill. So I am also part of the problem.

My rational is the I will only drill 2 holes with the tool.  Then, I will lose the tool anyway.

Funny thing is, and I know your post was a reply to johnj and not a suggestion to fix my problem, but I thought about using one of these or a hole saw to put one in the proper place and then cover the other hole up. Hey, if I've got a $#!&ty part then why not complete the process and make a jack-leg $#!&ty repair to it LOL! Too bad I've already ordered a proper replacement.
