895XJ Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Alright guys I figured I'd post my little side project up on here. I bought a Putco hardness but there was a few things that I wasn't happy about so I decided to make my own. Some of the issues with the Putco were no fuse, wires too short, complex install and hard to find relays. All the connections of mine are soldered, no crimp connectors here. Made of 16 gauge wire it makes a noticable difference. This isn't going to be a big number thing but I figured I'd make a couple extra to sell. Once I run out of supplies I'm gonna call it quits unless there's a big demand. Here's some pictures of them. The photos are taken without wire loom on them but that's just so you can see the splices. Any questions please ask! Some features I'd like to point out that make this better than others are It's fused Universal five pin relays Soldered connections Custom length cut to XJ and MJ High temp ceramic connectors Easy install, one wire for ground and one for positive Hand made attention to detail, individually tested. Crash Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Looks good, are you going to sleeve the wires at all?
HOrnbrod Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Looks good, are you going to sleeve the wires at all? The photos are taken without wire loom on them but that's just so you can see the splices. Assume you will be using split loom since the harness is already soldered together? Nice work.
895XJ Posted January 31, 2017 Author Posted January 31, 2017 Yep, I'm using split loom and some decent electrical tape to hold them all together. Sent from my XT1635-02 using Tapatalk
sinkrun Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Looks good I am giving it some thought mine are crap.
895XJ Posted January 31, 2017 Author Posted January 31, 2017 I've got one left so if anyone is interested. Not saying I won't make more but for now this is it Sent from my XT1635-02 using Tapatalk
johnj92131 Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 I will take it! Send me your paypal address. This will go in the 86 TDI diesel Comanche. Along with the Hella E-code lights I got from Don - this will be great lighting.
895XJ Posted February 2, 2017 Author Posted February 2, 2017 Sale pending Sent from my XT1635-02 using Tapatalk
895XJ Posted February 2, 2017 Author Posted February 2, 2017 Sold out. With that being said, does any body here think I should make small batch of these? Make another small batch that is Sent from my XT1635-02 using Tapatalk
895XJ Posted February 3, 2017 Author Posted February 3, 2017 John, just finished yours up and will soon be in the mail! Sent from my XT1635-02 using Tapatalk
johnj92131 Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Opened up my harness package today. It looks as good in person as it does in the pictures! I even tugged on a few of the connections to see if they were tight or not. Nice Work! I put the harness back in the package and on the shelf - so I don't loose it over the next few months. Once the 86 diesel MJ gets to California, the harness will be instaalled with a pair of Hella E-code headlights. Once that is done, I should not need any extra driving lights. Again, very nice work and a BIG thank you for putting these together.
895XJ Posted February 9, 2017 Author Posted February 9, 2017 Thanks John! All the connectors are crimped on and then soldered too so they won't be letting loose anytime soon. Thanks again for your order, I hope you enjoy. I'll have more ready shortly! Sent from my XT1635-02 using Tapatalk
895XJ Posted February 9, 2017 Author Posted February 9, 2017 I've kinda underestimated the sales of these, they're going faster than I can keep up!

895XJ Posted March 9, 2017 Author Posted March 9, 2017 Hello all, school has kind of been hectic lately so I haven't had the freetime I usually have, but you can PM me and I'll get a couple made up.
Siopposition Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 I have a 97+ front end, with the female portion spliced into the main harness on a 90 mj. Would these work, or would I need to go with a 97+ upgrade? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk
cody4359 Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 X2 on the 97+ question. I may be interested if they don't take to long, mine is a full 97+ converted rig Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
895XJ Posted March 10, 2017 Author Posted March 10, 2017 They work perfectly for the 97+ Swap but I've got a list of about 20 people clambering for old at the moment Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
cody4359 Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Made any progress? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
