FireMedic493
Hello everyone! Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I wanted to introduce myself. I just purchased a 1990 Comanche Eliminator 4.0 4x4. I've been a long time Jeeper, but this is my first Comanche. It's got a lot of work that needs done, including replacing the bed and doors, but the frame and drivetrain are solid. Going to be a very fun project to work on. It will be slow going due to limited funds at the moment, but I will start a build thread after I pick it up tomorrow. I look forward to learning as much as I can from y'all, and showing off the progress of my build!

FireMedic493
Well this just happened. The guy that I was gonna buy the Comanche from just up and backed out on the deal. Why do the Jeep gods hate me?? I've been searching for years for a decent one here up north, and I still haven't been able to get my hands on one! This stinks. I guess the search continues. If anyone has a lead on a decent 4x4 Comanche, preferably with the 4.0, anywhere in Indiana or the surrounding area, let me know. Guess I'll just have to keep admiring others builds until I can find my own.

Pete M
don't buy from around the rust belt. buy from out west or down south and then never let it touch winter. you'll have a truck for life
pitbull4x4
Hello from Decatur, Indiana There is a guy in town that has a Comanche for sale. It's a 2wd but from what I have seen it is clean and don't think it has any rust problems.

FireMedic493
Just a little update. Going Saturday to take a look at an 89 up in south bend. From all the pics I got, it seems to have minimal rust(heck, my 06 commander has more rust than this thing). It's pretty heavily modded already, but needs a little work to finish up. The biggest selling point is the axles. Built Dana 44 up front, and a built Dana 60 with a Detroit locker in the rear. Wish me luck!
