fiatslug87 Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Finally used my engine hoist again after a three year hiatus, made pulling the mail box post footing a breeze!
johnj92131 Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Good use for the hoist! Sure beats a pick/shovel and pry bar/digging bar.
HOrnbrod Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 Brilliant! My treated wood post has gotten a bit shaky over the years and needs to be replaced. Neat way to pull the concrete footing and reuse the hole.
Pete M Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 nice! :rock on: My engine hoist has lifted one engine so far. but holy crap is it useful around the house! fav so far was the beanbag chair sized boulder we moved by picking up the rock with the hoist and pushing the trailer under it, then reversing the procedure when we got home. :D man the hoist was straining under that one. :rotf:
johnj92131 Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 There is a lesson here for me. When I buy an Engine hoist - Get the BIG one!

Wiggilez Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Finally used my engine hoist again after a three year hiatus, made pulling the mail box post footing a breeze! My dad and I did just that a year ago to remove the footing for our cloths line poles.
87Warrior Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 I have never used my HiLift jack on the trail, but I have pulled hundreds and hundreds of fence posts out of the ground with it. Looks like I need to add an engine hoist to the arsenal. :)

Rock garden?
Pete M Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 mostly it was because the owner of the property was a good friend's grandpa and we were tasked with making the rock (and its slightly smaller bretheren) simply go away. but, yeah, I've made several rock gardens over the years.
HOrnbrod Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 Wow - most excellent! Looks like a how-to pic from landscaper's digest. Love the color combinations on the house too. I think I'll steal them - it's house painting time - again.
Keyav8r Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Never pulled an engine with mine but I've loaded large pumps, demo skids, industrial fans, etc. a good number of times. May actually use it to pull the MJ engine when (if) I retire.
Pete M Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 having an engine hoist is like having super powers. :D
vanschmidt Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 ANOTHER reason to get an engine hoist! LOL :D
