Jacob Ochs
Is it possible one of the mods could change the title of this thread to "1986 2.8L to turbo 3.4L to 4.0L MJ...." Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

Jacob Ochs
Nothing new really, I've installed the keyless entry sensor from the donor 4.0 XJ and love it, it's pretty awesome having power windows as well! I also got the A/C system sealed up and working. Sometime in June I will be taking it to have body work done on it and paint! Jacob Ochs
Just installed the TUFF STUFF Offroad Winch Bumper, really like the look of it! It looks a lot like JCR's, it just doesn't have the spot for the LED cubes. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk
Jacob Ochs
Building up the Dana 30 from the donor XJ, I was either going to build or buy an overall truss, reinforce the C's, 3 link control arms, and 1 ton steering. I don't do any crazy offloading and will never go over 35" tires so I think this axle will suffice! DirtyComanche
I like that front bumper, real clean looking. When you truss that axle be careful to not warp it.
Jacob Ochs
Finished welding the truss on the Dana 30, sent it off about 2 weeks ago to be sandblasted and powder coated and should be picking it up today! Jacob Ochs
In the mean time, I've ordered Rough Country's long arm kit and it has proven a pain in the butt to install on a 86 2.8 converted to 4.0! There has been tons of cutting! You can see in the picture that the body brace will have to be cut off to hold the side bracket. I'm thinking I'll weld two 1/4 inch angle iron braces to re support it once it has been cut out! Any other ideas from you guys? Jacob Ochs
Got the axle back from the powder coat shop! Installed the ball joints (my least favorite POS job to do on a vehicle) and installed the inner axle seals! DirtyComanche
Can you cut the RC side bracket up to go around the cab mount? That was what I tentatively planned to do if I had got a hold of a RC kit.
shelbyluvv
I think the 3 bolts on each side are more than enough to keep that cross member in place. That area of the frame is really thick.
Jacob Ochs
I ended up cutting the bracket to accommodate for the body brace. Everything else fit pretty well! FYI for anyone looking to run the Rough Country kit, don't use their self tapping bolts. They say to torque them to 30 ft/lb but they strip out at about 20! I just drilled a hole and fished some through bolts in their place! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

Jacob Ochs
Haven’t updated in forever, got the new lift and tires on a few months ago. Not much else has changed! Here’s a picture :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Jacob Ochs
Nothing new, running great as a 4.0L should! I’ve been considering a supercharger kit. Does anyone have any experience with the BoostedTech supercharger kit?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
