What would it be worth. A guy is wanting to trade me for my yj. It's really clean with a 7.5 in lift up front and 6.5 in the rear with new 33s and is primer white ready for paint. Just trying to figure out what kind of value it would have being that they didn't make one.

Thanks

id inspect it very hard and make sure the unibody extension was done correct. that's a pretty large job, and the excitement of finding something cool can make you miss a lot of things. atleast that's what happened to me. as for price, who knows. I have quite a bit of coin in my rig but comanches are for a certain few so I had to really drop the price to where it wasn't worth it to take that big of a loss just to sell it. pictures are always welcome

The seller must have given you an Idea of how much cash he wants.  And you must have some idea of what your Jeep actually sells for - NOT what people ask.  The real selling price.

My guess is that he wants to sell his 4 door Comanche because he is sick of all the work it will take to fix the truck.  Not to mention all the $$ it will take to properly finish the truck.

My advise?  If you don't know what to look for on this truck - STAY AWAY from it.   But do get a real Comanche!  Have fun with it, learn from it.  Then when you have an extra $10/15K you can start to think about converting YOUR truck into a 4 door.  You will at least know what you are starting with.

It is complete aside from paint accordong to him. He just wants something more trailable as the trails are tight in neck of the woods. As far as drivability goes hes driving 200 miles one way for the trade which in my opinion is a pretty good test of the rig. Ive been wanting to build one of these for a few years now and have done alot of research so i have a pretty good idea of what to look for plus the guy is a mechanic/body guy which helps with the confidence a little. Jeeps less built than mine are going for around 6000 and that what i had posted on the ad. He said he values the comanche at 6000 but i don't know if thats just because of what I'm asking for my yj or his actual value on it. Thats why i was asking on here.

There's an old saying when it comes to, what's my "old car" worth? It's worth what you can get for it. In my opinion, there is no cut and dry value on older cars. Someone can tell you their 72 Gremlin is worth 20,000 but if the only guy that finds it interested in it is me, then you won't be selling it.

It would help us if photos were available to see what you see. At the end of the day you're going to have to decide how bad you want it, and if you could build it for the same money (or less). If it's a nice solid truck done right, 6,000 doesn't sound too crazy considering how much work is involved to do it right. I agree, if he's going to drive 200 miles to trade, he must trust it mechanically anyway.

What's your general location?

You have to host the photos at another site then use the URL from there VIA the little Image tag in the reply to topic area. Sorry not very good at explaining things, but hope it helps. Photo bucket is what a lot of people use, it's what I've used, but I think it's now a pain. Want a quick easy cheat? Do a post on craigslist, that will work too.

If non of that appeals to you, email me a couple photos, I'll see what I can do.

The IP.Board 3 series does not support iOS very well. If we upgraded to the IP.Board 4 series many of the legacy issues would be fixed. However, the current hosting provider for CC is at a breaking point where we can not efficiently upgrade the site due to their lack of SSH shell access.

Okay, so then you'll have to do it the old fashioned way, how I do it on my iphone.

Take that url, and make it look like this:

Notice I just added "img" and "/img" but in square brackets instead of quotes at the front and back of the url. Should turn out like this:

Glad someone that knows something chimed in, sounds like you should be able to get it taken care of.

As to value. I'd say it isn't possible to make an accurate assessment from photos. That said, I don't really like what I see. I don't like how the cab to rear door looks. I'm really curious as to how he did the cut and paste.

As to my personal taste, I don't like the wheels/tires, bumper, or roof rack either. So those would all deduct from value if I was looking to buy it.
