Hey,Pete,I'm heading to the metal supply shop at lunch.

Do you think it would be smart and or necessary to

triangulate a couple smaller brackets out to the

corners to stop any side to side movement?

I will not be towing, but may winch with it if the

need arises.

But I guess now that it's done, give us some more

pics,ya'll.

I thought about the triangulation and decided it wasn't necessary. But it can't hurt, so if you want to, go for it.

$500,what did you paint those with,it looks great?
Looks like Wrinkle Finish Paint you can get it at any auto parts store and if applied correctly it looks killer and covers imperfections ,as I sat it will cover cat s#!!t. 8)

On my blue MJ (not the ones that I built in the DIY thread), I had them both bedlined with "Extreme liner" at the local body shop when I had my truck bed done.

Kinda Pricey but I think it was well worth it.

I felt it was necessary in my case to add gussets/triangulation to assist in side to side deflection. I knew at some point I would end up in a situation where it wouldn't be a straight pull from the rear. Flat plate, even 1/4", will bend fairly easily when subjected to those types of loads. This shows the gussets that I added. I ran them almost to the shackle hanger to help transfer as much of the load as possible in a side pull to the uniframe.

Thanks,reson46.I just picked up the brackets.

They are almost exactly what Pete M had built.

Now that I see them in person, and am planning to be

able to winch off this bumper,I'll gusset it also.

Will do it this weekend, have some scraps I can use

to beef it up some.

Btw,yours looks great,super heavy cuty.Nice job.

Sorry I forgot to have Scotty turn off the cloaking device.

Hey I am just glad to have a good useable bumper, searched the internet for a month been cheated and lied to by internet parts stores. I will soon straighten thje bumper corner and repaint the bumper carefully masking around that sticker to preserve it.
