Violently shaking at high speeds

When i am on the highway, doing around 70, i get violent shaking from the front end of my truck, and the only way it goes away is if I reduce my speed to around 55.

I have had this problem before and i have fixed it and now i am at a dead end. I have balanced the tires, and replaced the steering stabilizer shock. and it is still violently shaking at high speeds. I know it isn't warped rotors cause its not when I'm braking, and also it wouldn't be the wheel bearings because its a constant shaking in the steering too. 

 

This is the third time it has done this and i am getting really frustrated with this vehicle. Any advice would help!

Do you have a lift installed? If your suspension is modified in any way, take a picture so the experts on here can give you some suggestions.

 

The only other thing I can add is that you should get underneath, with the front suspension unloaded if it's possible to do so safely, and make sure all the suspension and steering joints are tight, and there's no play in anything or any bent or otherwise damaged links.

Check, then double check, then triple check the trackbar. Frame mount bracket, trackbar to bracket, trackbar to axle.

Sometimes such speed sensitive issues can be the wheel balance anyway. But this is darn good advice. The body side track bar mount gets wobbled out and is something that is usually overlooked

I just balanced my tires 2 days ago, so i highly doubt it would be them, and I will definitely check all the trackbar, frame mount bracket, trackbar to bracket, trackbar to axle. It could also be my bushings and linkage, it mostly has the original bushings on it. I've replaced most of the tie rod ends.

Do check for loose, worn-out steering components first, then call around and bring it to a shop that has a Hunter Road Force balancer. The rest are junk. I had tires that could not be balanced until the Hunter balancer. Several times.

I agree on the road force balancer and add that you should have your alignment checked including caster angle. When I swapped to 4wd I did a toe and go and was fine for a little while until "it" happened. Then I rechecked it and found my caster was at 3.5 to 4 degrees when it should have been close to 7. Adjusted the caster as close as I could get it and haven't had an issue since. This is on no lift and 235 tires on stock rims.

I am having close to the same issue. Except everyone kept telling me to get an adjustable track bar since it has a 4" lift. I just did so, and measured everything out.. Checking axle measurements to the body. Got it within an 1/8" (way closer than it was). Took it for a little test drive and almost totaled my rig it was shaking so bad. Before I even had a chance to slow down, my rear driveshaft went flying away. Now I am in worse shape than I was before the track bar replacement.

 

Oh, Replaced the steering stabilizer and checked all of the bushing. Previous owner took out the rear load bearing springs so that it wouldn't be higher in the rear. I need help now because I feel like it is almost not drivable.

The adjustable track bar is only to center the front axle on the centerline of the vehicle. It won't cause wheel shimmy or death wobble. It sounds like your shake wasn't front end related at all, but the rear drive shaft u-joints getting ready to self destruct. Either that, or your driveshaft is too short now that you have the lift.

Any time you change something on the front end you need to do an alignment including caster. Balance the wheels good too. This all needs to be right before blaming other stuff. Do that and put new ujoints in the driveshaft and see what happens.

A froze or binding front axle U joint will also cause this. Symptoms can come and go depending on what is up with the joint. I have seen where one side of the cross is rusted and will intermittently bind. I have seen wear grooves that will do the same. A U joint doesn't have to be sloppy to be bad.

 

 Jack the truck up and put the front on stands. Turn the wheel full left and rotate the tires by hand. Should be smooth and without hitches. Rotate full left and do the same. Also check straight and at varying degrees of turn. Should be smooth in all positions.
