  1. When i am on the highway, doing around 70, i get violent shaking from the front end of my truck, and the only way it goes away is if I reduce my speed to around 55. I have had this problem before and i have fixed it and now i am at a dead end. I have balanced the tires, and replaced the steering stabilizer shock. and it is still violently shaking at high speeds. I know it isn't warped rotors cause its not when I'm braking, and also it wouldn't be the wheel bearings because its a constant shaking in the steering too. This is the third time it has done this and i am getting really frustrated with this vehicle. Any advice would help!
  2. Here we go gents, I've got 3 problems that should be fairly simple to resolve, but we all know how that goes. :shake: Issue #1: I have swapped in a V8 ZJ sway bar and links, WJ lower control arms, and new shocks, but i still have an excessive amount of body roll as well as very poor on road manners. Just driving down the road the steering feels all over the place, made expontentially worse if the road is waffly/uneven/ has dips or pockets. I have also swapped in a ZJ steering box (quick steer ratio :rock on: ) BUT, it has a definate dead spot which, again, adds to the instablity. What i think the problem is. . . . Sway bar links and bushings are shot, and the steering box needs to be rebuilt. I was also contebplating adding a second bracket so that the bottom portion of the sway bar link could be captured on both sides. Issue #2: At low speeds and take off, the truck will sometimes shake roughly and get worse with the amount of power applied (standard transmission) but will stop every time just after take off. It likes to do it particuarly bad when taking off and turning at the same time. It does something similar in 4wd as well. Usually when there is lots of wheel spin and i am turing fairly sharp. The shaking in 4wd is VERY rough and forces me to let off on the gas and/or straighten the wheel. However, I do not think the two issues are related. What i think the problem is. . . . . . I believe the problem i have while driving under normal circumstances is my pilot bearing. It is either worn out, or no longer firmly pressed into the crankshaft, allowing the shaft of the transmission to wobble around (shaking) until it self centers (at 5mph) (physics and all that) The problem i have while in 4wd, i do not have any ideas. My Universal joints (drive shaft and axle shaft) are in good condition and my wheel bearings are brand new Timkens. Issue #3: At speeds greater than 65mph the truck has an annoying shake/vibration. At 55/60mph its smooth as glass. Upper and lower Ball joints (XRF) and Wheel bearings (Timken) are brand new, installed last week. Track bar has less than 1k miles on it, all steering components are new (less than 1k miles), draglink, tie rod, and all TREs. As stated previously, i have JY WJ control arms, V8 ZJ sway bar, and ZJ steering box. Its not a severe shaking, as i was doing 80mph the other day, its just annoying as hell. What i think the problem is. . . . . I considered getting the tires balanced, but i have learned that tire balance only really comes into play at 55mph, which i have no problems running. I still have the factory aluminum rims, the ones with the fake looking bead lock (10 hole) and it was discovered that 2 of them were warped. I swapped them out for JY ones and doing so took away 80% of my original shaking. I am at a loss as to what my next move should be, new rims, tire balance, or new track bar maybe? :hmm: FPC.
