this is my old xj, the one i was working one, 6.5'' lift etc. 33's all kinds of junk and money into it. i just sold it because i need something with better gas mileage and more highway friendly 8)

i really kind of miss it now that its gone

and now for the new jeep in my life. i was kinda joking about the better gas mileage. 190 miles and a 1/2 tank isn't great but its better than the xj

its a 2004 SE. 2.5 5 spd. its a super deluxe base model. i don't think it has a single option on it. no radio, no a/c, no back seat. NOTHING!!! but i love it so much. i drove to akron ohio to pick it up this morning. 6 hours of driving and 25 bucks in gas for a nice jeep like this with only 24k on the ticker.

you need to paint them wheels black or buy new ones

they are covers on there now, but i will probably paint them black. or put my aluminum ones on tere, but they would be black also. 8)

what do yall think of the chrome grill? its kinda growing on me but i am unsure

pics do no justice to the color. its a lot deeper green, with metallic flake :D :D :D :D

I was hoping the color was not what my screen shows it as. What I'm looking at is "Forest Service" green. :ack:

Even so, I'd drive it. jamminz.gif

I can dig it.

But that is an option, wierd you get a chrome grill and no radio. If you do want to remove it, its not hard from what I understand and I think they go for about 100 bucks. You also have a spare tire cover, option #2.

well here's a small update. i got some extra cash so i bought a front and rear bumper from 4wd hardware. they are the procomp rock crwler bumpers, supposedly 1/4'' steel. i was excited alot.

but i got the front bumper today, no rear yet  but first off its not made by procomp as advertised, its genuine steel brand. and then its not even 1/4'' like advertised its only 3/16. so by now i am kinda ticked off that its some false advertisment. then i get my stock bumper off and go to put the new one on, it don't fit over the frame :flame: so now i am reall pissed that i got some junk @$$ bumper. but about 20 minutes with the grinder on the frame and its fits like a charm. :ya:

so i am kinda dissapointed all in all, but i have a new bumper which is a decent platform to build something better in the future. i might add a stinger, and a winch mount to it, then make the shackle mounts better and stronger. but thats in the future.

anyway here's the pics.

looks badass without the bumper i think, almost was gonna leave it that way :ya:

and here is the finished porduct

Very nice! :D Now ya gotta work on some tires. I recommend the 29" STS like my sis used to have.

How do those do with 99.9% road driving?

I was thinking about getting another XJ to drive to work, cause my one is 'street legal' but not really good to drive, and I would like to tear down my MJ. I know that I won't be able to leave any Jeep I buy alone.

My sister loved them and they drew attention everywhere she went. I admit there are better handling ATs out there, but I challenge you to find me some that both stand out that much and are that affordable. :D

Being a swamper, they are a true 29" tall and that makes them as tall as most tires that claim to be 30" tall. We went with a 8" wide rim, so I'm not certain how well they would work on the narrower stock rims.

i like the sts, but i am gonna go trxus mud terrains in a 31 probably. its not gonna be driven on the highway too much so i am not really worried about the get up and go. hell i drove my xj with 33's for 2 years with stock 3.55s and it was fine it would blow by a dodge ram with a 4.7 in it from a stand still, but had no power over 50mph.

but i will miss the gas mileage once i get them, but i might be working at a firestone dealer in the near future so i would probably get a mad discount on the destination m/ts :brows:
