big66440
I've always really liked those trucks but have always wondered how they would be as daily drivers, has anyone in the forum ever owned one of these? I would probably trade my MJ for one in a heart beat under the right circumstances, I'd do a 360 magnum/ A518 3.90 combo on that thing, what do you guys think? jimoshel
When I wasn't driving a Jeep I was driving a Dodge. I liked them. The A were so light assed that they can be a bear to drive on slick roads. Always had a couple sand bags sitting on the rear fender wells.
dj5
if hard to find, than why not broaden horizons to the ford econoline pick up or maybe something like vw caddy lol I'm not a big fan of the design of those type "trucks" honestly :dunno:but wondering what makes you want one so badly that you would trade your mj in a heartbeat? Good question, guess I like things that are off the beaten path ( Comanche  ) I feel like you have much more of a "bare canvas" to work with or maybe it was Bill Maverick's Little red wagon that got me hooked :???: ,can't quite put my finger on it but i wouldn't pass up the chance to own one. Keyav8r
I had forgotten about the Little Red Wagon. Brings back old memories - the smells of burnt rubber and nitro in the air!
dasbulliwagen
Are you talking about the Swept line trucks or the trucks based on the A vans? If its the trucks www.sweptline.org is a great resource equivalent to comancheclub. I'm holding onto my buddies 71 Sweptline pickup. Its a half ton short bed big block automatic AC truck that spent most of it life with a camper in the back of it. His dad bought it new and its been in his family ever since. He's been trying to restore it but has hit several road blocks. It's a nice truck though. Hopefully this summer we will have it going again. Funny you bring that up I'm a member on that forum as well, i have a 66 D100 short wheel base swepty myself all original 318 poly 3 on the tree, its my other project that unfortunately gets the back burner since my MJ is my daily driver and gets priority for any money that becomes available. BTW I'm talking about the A series trucks, I'm not sure if they were actually based on the vans or not.
