T- Case question

Recommended Posts

Ok have another question. I heard the transmission out of a 99 Cherokee has a computer and will not work ? Is this true or will the transmission be a bolt in with no issues ?

And yes know need a 4wd trans but not doing the swap until spring

I have an AW4 from a 4x4 90 sitting on my garage floor.  Has the torque converter and flex plate as well.  I took it out to swap for a manual.  I had it rebuilt a while ago, but I bet it has less than 20k miles on it.   If you have a way to pick it up from south east Michigan, I'll make you a great deal on it.

I reused the t-case though, so I don't have that.

To revisit the speedo question .. The earlier speedo setup will swap into the later model case ... The gear shafts may have changed but that was to do with the sensor itself. The actual gears are the same going back into the 60's ... The long shaft gears index the same as the short shaft gears at the output shaft.

T case isn't ever the issue in swap its the aw4! Now saying that the obd2 aw4 can be used just more work and little more know how.
