wombat
Anyone running or know what its gonna take to put either size on the rear of my MJ? I plan to run TSL's up front. But I have NEVER scene the 31 boggers, and curious if a spring over will clear enough for 33's. I can deal with a little rubbing/ trimming. Pete M
spring over and 33x14s (and a 9"). rim width, backspacing and bumpstopping are key. I did nip a bit off the bottom edge of the flares. also, never take them on the road. they suck in every measurable way (and a few non-measurable ones). wombat
I run boggers (44x18x16.5's) on my other trial truck.. I disagree that they suck, they just have to be used in their element, and the way they are supposed to. Thanks for the pic though!
Pete M
I meant that they suck on the road in every conceivable way. offroad is waaay different. :D
wombat
You sir, are ABSOLUTELY correct! I will have a street set to switch back and forth.
neohic
Funny to see someone bring this up as I was recently "gifted" a set of 33x14 boggers. A couple of them have already been grooved out in the middle and the other two need it. Not sure what to do with them but I can also attest to them being terrible on the road when they were mounted on a Cherokee. Going down the road and hearing nothing but "WHAAAAAAAAAA" roaring away from the tires and then the annoying back massage at every stop. Definitely not ideal for street use. 86FUBAR
IMO the ride , howl , whine and other quarks wether they are good or bad are what make driving my jeep on the road more fun ! I'm nothing but smiles when I drive it wether it's sunny or raining out . I'm not saying it's safer or anything but it definitely keeps you on her toes and it is after all a truck ! NOT a car ... So I don't expect it to ride or sound like one but that's just me . I can't wait for the day I can afford some boggers because those tires scream bad @$$ ! Pete M
howl? whine? my boggers threaten to shake the truck apart above 20 mph. and I'm not kidding. It's worse than the worst washboard road I've ever been on. but I got them used and they are pretty beat up. maybe new ones aren't so bad.
benjy_26
I never tried Boggers, but I did have TSL's for a while on a K5, and when properly warmed up (and at the proper air pressure) they were loud, but not THAT bad on the road. Maybe your Boggers had been sitting flat for a while before you got em? I know that the TSL's would be rough as hell if I didn't move the truck at least once a week. Once they warmes up, though, they were ok. Just ok. lol
