onlyinajeep726 Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 I put one on both my '88 XJ and my former '96 XJ. I bought the Crimestopper SP-400 system, brand new on Amazon for around $75 in 2011. Works great and I've never had a problem with it. I installed it myself but it did take me the better part of a day, each, to wire them up. Not hard if you have a pretty good understanding of electrical and wiring. Best thing I can recommend is make yourself a chart to match up each wire from the RS system to the Jeep's harnesses.A good resource is the12volt.com. http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/alarmdetail/1214.html
Pete M Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 if I remember right, around here you can get them installed for about 100 or a little less. no freezing your hands off while fiddling with wires. :D
sinkrun Posted November 21, 2014 Author Posted November 21, 2014 I am going to have to check more places on prices. A friend nearby me was told 375.00 for a silverado no way am I paying that. If I can find 100-150 I would just let a shop do it.

For the $100-$150 they charged for the install I thought it was a good deal. No removing panels and tracing wires, no freezing fingers... Rob

Two screws at the bottom and the top pops off. Two more screws that hold in the metal kick panel and the entire wiring loom that the remote start requires is right there.

The Yellow wire in the loom is the start wire. If you want to tie into lock and unlock for remote start you will need to run over to the passenger side fuse/junction block.

Where do you find that? Lol Pulling or splicing that "ROB" wire......might be a job most would not want to undertake :no:

There are two relay wires for the locks at the driver's door switches that go by the steering column.
