i too am lookin to put a lift on my MJ but i'm on the fence between the 3'' and the 5'' i'd like to see stock next to the 3'' lift if possible,

Take a look at my build thread. I went from stock on 235's, to 2" on the same, to 31's on 2 inches, and finally on the same 31's with a 3" lift. This is all on the front, mind you. I LIKE Arizona rake. :)

BTW, 5 inches is A LOT for a DD. If you plan on driving any type of distance on a regular basis with your MJ, keep it 3" and less and get your clearance by trimming. You'll thank yourself later!

Yep. It kind of forces your vehicle to land properly if you catch air while blasting down desert roads. The trick to it working is having a stiff front end and a soft rear, with the shocks to handle it, of course.

Stock 2wd on 235/75/15 tires on left, Lifted approx 3" in the middle on 31x10.50 tires, stock 4wd on 235/75/15 tires on the right

kinda hard to tell at an angle but looks like a good amount of lift for a daliy driver,

Here's what too much lift looks like (6.5" front 8" rear). It's on 285/75/16 in the pic..... ignore the driveshaft hanging out.

I'm dropping it back down to 3.5-4.5". The bed becomes useless (too hard to get the toys in) beyond this height. Don't have a pic of that but it was my favorite.

Buy used ones from a farmer or construction co kubota 4x4 IIRC then slap onto 16" steel rims. They won't be listed as 33" that's just what they measured to.

one other question cause i just thought of this, could a lwb comanche use a swb comanche lift and could a swb comanche (or lwb) use a lift off a cherokee?

Buy used ones from a farmer or construction co kubota 4x4 IIRC then slap onto 16" steel rims. They won't be listed as 33" that's just what they measured to.

Yep.  The springs are the same on LWB and SWB models.

Yep.  The springs are the same on LWB and SWB models.

 

You can even get used xj lifts super cheap

sweet, that's what i wanted to know, no to start lookin for lifts that i can't afford lol  :rotfl2:

Check the scrapper or general jeep forum classifieds...... mildly lifted xjs often end up getting parted for cheap

You can only use the front from the Cherokee. Rear springs are wrong for the Comanche. If the Cherokee has a rear AAL you can use that but it will only give you about half the lift as on the Cherokee. And as stated above short and long bed Comanche are the same.

MJ leafs are 57" & XJ's are 52". Didn't you post about just buying your MJ and the lift being all jacked around on it? If XJ leafs bolt-on I would say so.... :eek:

Pics? The XJ leaves are WAY shorter than MJ leaf packs

these to are on 30" tires

here is a few of my Hell Creek 3" lift springs side by side with my stock springs

and this is how she sits 1 1/2 years later on 32" tires
